Welcome to Dentalvana, my name is Dr. Julia Bewley and I would like to tell you why it was my heart’s desire to create a dental office that is different.  I was born and raised in Hannover, Germany but my parents are Chinese who immigrated from Indonesia when they were in their twenties. My parents only went to the dentist when they were in pain or had some sort of concern.  I remember drinking soda and eating candy on a regular basis, but since I never complain of pain, I didn’t see the dentist until about 5 years old. Even then I only went because I had visible cavities, not due to pain because the reality is that 80% of dental problems really do not cause any pain.  Anyway, I remember I was very little, maybe 5 years of age when I first went to the dentist. I remember the specific smell as it was yesterday. The office looked like a hospital and the smell was overwhelmingly chemical.
