This is to provide an update on the Covid-19 situation after the announcement on the daily briefing of the reopening of dentists on Monday 8th June.
To clarify, as a practice we found this out the same time as you. We have worked extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure we were ready to see our patients face to face when we were given the go ahead by the relevant authorities.
We expected to be given more notice than 10 days and we want to explain how the practice is planning to reopen.
Firstly we will be prioritising patients that we have spoken to since we closed who needed emergency advice or antibiotics. If you were one of these patients you will be contacted in the next few days to book an assessment appointment during the week commencing 8th June. Following these assessments and temporary fixing of any obvious dental issues such as broken teeth, we hope to be able to book your definitive treatment from 29th June. Please understand this is a tentative date and depends fully on the government Covid-19 threat level.
Secondly we will then bring in patients who are in the middle of their treatment, who have temporary restorations in place and need their definitive treatment to be completed.
Following from that we hope to start bringing in routine appointments such as examinations and hygiene appointments.
We really appreciate your support and loyalty to the practice and we can’t wait to welcome you back, from a 2m distance of course!
Please be aware that we are taking every precaution we are able to to protect you and our staff so if we look a little different when you come in, we’re still the same team, ready to look after your oral health.
We will be doing as much as we can on a contactless basis to minimise contact with our reception staff. We will explain the full procedure in your appointment confirmation email or over the telephone the day before your appointment.
Once again, we thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you soon.
