About 1800 Emergency Dentist Portland 24 Hour

1800 Emergency Dentist Portland 24 Hour operates on Northwest Saltzman Road in the Cedar Mill area of Portland, Oregon. Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is 1800 Emergency Dentist Portland 24 Hour located in Portland?
1800 Emergency Dentist Portland 24 Hour is on Northwest Saltzman Road in the Cedar Mill area of Portland, Oregon (97229).
What services does 1800 Emergency Dentist Portland 24 Hour offer?
Listed services at 1800 Emergency Dentist Portland 24 Hour include Emergency Dentistry. The full list is shown on this page.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe or worsening tooth pain, a knocked-out or badly cracked tooth, swelling in the face or gums, bleeding that will not stop, and a lost filling or crown that leaves a tooth exposed all count. Swelling with fever is the most urgent of these, because it suggests an infection that is spreading.
Do I need an emergency appointment for a lost filling?
It depends on symptoms. A lost filling with no pain can often wait for a routine appointment, but the exposed tooth is more vulnerable to decay and fracture, so it should not be left indefinitely. Sharp pain or sensitivity to temperature moves it up the list.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

I wouldn't be surprised if this 24-hour dentist is the best one in the city. As far as I'm concerned, he certainly is. His bedside manner is terrific, and he is extremely knowledgeable.

Now I know for sure that 1800 Emergency Dentist is much better than its competitors. The last time I called, 1800 Emergency Dentist found a Portland 24 hour dentist who was able to repair my teeth after I damaged them on a Mount Hood hiking trip. Getting to the office was more of a trek than the hike, but it was worth it. Very thankful for 1800 Emergency Dentist!

Gathering at home went sideways with a molar fracture. Emergency service staff took x-rays, completed sealing repair, and guided me through pain relief at home. A kind reminder text the next afternoon showed true attentiveness.
