About 38th Modern Dental
38th Modern Dental runs a general-dentistry practice set up for the everyday work most patients actually need in the northwest Denver area of Denver. The clinic is built around the day-to-day work — not boutique marketing — and serves adults and kids in one familiar place. The shape of the practice fits patients who want a clear conversation about what's actually needed, with treatment staged around real priorities rather than a one-shot proposal on the first visit. If you're scoping a northwest Denver dental option, this is a sensible practice to put on a short list of candidates and book a first visit with.
Service coverage spans the standard general-dentistry breadth: routine cleanings and exams, tooth-colored fillings, crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, basic extractions, and gum-disease management. The practice also handles minor cosmetic touch-ups like whitening and bonding when patients need them, alongside the routine preventive work. Restorations lean conservative — composite material rather than amalgam — and most needs are kept in-house, with specialty referrals reserved for cases that genuinely call for them rather than offered up front.
If you want straightforward dental care without aggressive treatment plans on the first visit, this clinic is set up around exactly that kind of patient.
Cost positioning sits in the typical Denver general-dentistry range, with most major insurance plans accepted and clear pretreatment estimates before restorative work begins. Patients searching for dentist for the whole family in Denver, preventive and restorative dentist in Denver, or affordable family dental care in Denver commonly land at neighborhood practices like this one — generalists rather than narrow specialty offices. It suits families wanting consistency over many years, patients who value predictable scheduling, and anyone who'd rather have one trusted dentist see the same teeth across decades than rotate through a corporate group practice. The northwest Denver location works for patients already running errands in this part of Denver, and parking and transit access tend to be straightforward for the surrounding blocks.
38th Modern Dental on West 38th Avenue in northwest Denver runs a general-dentistry practice covering cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, and basic emergency care for adults and kids for Denver families.

Booked X-rays and a cleaning as a first time customer and couldn’t be happier. The staff was thorough and educated me along the way. They made suggestions like a night guard; broke down the cost and what the next visit would look like, but weren’t pushy. Overall great experience and I can only speak on a cleaning, but would 100% recommend.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience because this office has changed a lot over the five years I’ve been a patient, and many of the older reviews are for a completely *DIFFERENT DENTIST* When I first became a patient at 38th Modern Dental, I absolutely loved my experience. I was referred because the previous dentist was incredibly kind, thorough, and made me feel genuinely cared for. Unfortunately, the dentist changed… and then changed again… and my experience changed along with it. I was in the middle of my Invisalign treatment when Dr. Lee took over my case. From that point on, I consistently felt more like a number than a patient. Appointments felt extremely rushed, I often left with unanswered questions, and I found myself advocating for myself more than I ever expected in a healthcare setting. At what was supposed to be the end of my original 17 trays, Dr. Lee told me my teeth looked more like a “15 out of 17.” When I asked if there was a way to get me to what had originally been planned, she told me there was and that it wouldn’t cost anything additional. However, she also made it clear that she was satisfied with where my teeth were and seemed to encourage ending treatment there. I found this confusing because I had committed to Invisalign with the expectation of completing the treatment plan I had started. I hadn’t invested thousands of dollars to stop at what was described to me as “15 out of 17” when additional refinement was available and included. That conversation was the first time I truly felt that I had to advocate for myself rather than having my provider advocate alongside me. As we were planning the next phase of my treatment, I was then told that a clinical detail involving one of my back molars had been missed, resulting in a proposed extension of 13 additional trays—a 76% increase over my original 17-tray treatment plan. I understand refinements can be a normal part of Invisalign, but what was frustrating was how this was handled. A front-teeth-only option that ultimately became my final treatment plan wasn’t discussed until after those additional trays had already been ordered. Had those options been explained upfront, I could have made an informed decision much earlier and avoided weeks of unnecessary delays, confusion, and ultimately the need to create yet another revised treatment plan. Communication was the biggest issue throughout my treatment. I would ask for clarification about my options, expected outcomes, timelines, and next steps, but ended up waited days for responses that created even more questions. Different members of the office frequently provided conflicting information which made it hard to know what to believe. Even toward the end of treatment the issues continued. When I came in to pick up my revised trays, the front desk initially handed me the wrong set. I caught the mistake before leaving but had I not checked, I would have driven home with the incorrect trays. While minor on its own, it reinforced my feeling that I needed to double check everything myself. One interaction at my final appointment perfectly summarized my experience. Dr. Lee asked if I was happy with my results, and I asked whether there was anything else she thought could be improved. She responded by asking whether I thought my teeth were done. I explained that I was asking for *her* professional opinion because I wanted to know, from a clinical perspective, whether she felt my treatment was complete. Instead of providing that guidance, she redirected the question back to me again. That exchange captured how I felt throughout the entire process. I wasn’t looking for someone to simply do whatever I requested. I was looking for a provider who could combine my goals with their professional expertise, communicate clearly, and guide me through treatment. Unfortunately, I never felt that with Dr. Lee. Unfortunately I could go on about other experiences outside of invisalign.. but google only allows 4000 characters. This office is for profit.. not for patients.
This office is fantastic! The staff is extremely polite, professional, friendly and funny! Dr.Lee did some fillings for me and worked with me until I was completely comfortable chewing! 10/10 would recommend
Every time I come here for my cleaning I have an amazing experience! This place was awesome, I have never had a better cleaning in my life and it did not hurt at all. The staff, Dr Lee and the Hygienist were all great and made me feel welcome. They took very good care of me and recommended options for my lifelong dental health. Thank you!
When I cracked my tooth and needed an extraction, they got me in quickly and got everything done painlessly and professionally. The staff was all great, from the receptionist, to the dentist, to the dental assistants. I chose 38th Modern Dental because a friend recommended the practice, and I, in turn, highly recommend them.
38th Modern Dental is great; a few years ago when when I was in a time of need, (cracked molar, few cavities, root canal needed, etc.) they got everything I needed done, done well and accomplished properly. 10/10 would recommend & brush your teeth too.
I went yesterday for the first time to 38th Modern Dental. I was impressed how friendly the staff was right from my first step into the office. This is my thrid dental office in Denver and everywhere else staff was vague and unfriendly with long wait times even if i had an appointment prescheduled. Dr.Lee at 38th Modern Dental was punctual, explained everything that i needed to get done and was patient with me made sure I understand. Great value as well compared to other places, and the equipment they use is up to date. Abby, Dr.Lee’s assistant, took the fastest xrays and made sure i was comfortable through the process. Overall thank you to Dr. Lee and her staff for the highly profesional treatment I received.
I originally picked this dentistry because it was close to where I lived and they took my insurance, but I continue to go here because of the great experiences. Natasha was a great dental hygienist, she cultivated a great environment and she was great about communicating with me throughout the appointment. Dr. Lee has also been wonderful to work with. I highly recommend 38th modern dental to anyone!
