About 38th Street Dental

38th Street Dental is a general dental practice located in Suite 56 at 1500 West 38th Street in the Rosedale neighbourhood of Austin, Texas, 78731. The practice is in north-central Austin, serving patients from Rosedale, Hyde Park, Allandale, Brentwood, Shoal Creek, and the surrounding central Austin communities between the UT campus and the Lamar and Guadalupe corridors.

General dentistry services include routine dental examinations, preventive cleanings, and standard restorative treatments. Patient reviews describe cleaning appointments as thorough, gentle, and efficient. The practice is noted for minimal wait times—most patients report being seen within one to two minutes of their appointment time—and for prioritising high-quality clinical delivery over recommending unnecessary additional procedures or upselling services.

The practice has a well-established patient base and multiple dentists including Dr. Meek and Dr. Tasch as noted in patient reviews. Appointments are scheduled well in advance, typically several months out, due to demand; patients seeking to join the practice are advised to book ahead as same-day and short-notice appointment availability is limited. The practice is described as scheduling-efficient in the sense that simple cleaning sessions can be completed in under 30 minutes when no restorative work is required.

West 38th Street in Rosedale is in the heart of central north Austin, near the North Lamar Boulevard and Guadalupe Street corridors and a short distance from the University of Texas campus, Hyde Park, and the North Loop neighbourhood. Capital Metro bus routes serve the 38th Street corridor. The practice is accessible by car from MoPac (Loop 1) via the 38th Street exit, and street parking is available on and around West 38th Street.

New patients should contact the practice to discuss availability and schedule an appointment. 38th Street Dental serves patients from Rosedale, Hyde Park, Allandale, and the broader central and north Austin area.

New patients interested in joining the practice should contact the office as early as possible, as appointments fill several months in advance and availability for new patients is limited without significant lead time. I had an excellent experience with a dental examine and cleaning. The dental hygienist, Sarah, was exceptional with explaining everything in detail. Dr Adam was also excellent in his work and thorough communication. They were transparent in all steps and recommendations. I was very well cared for from booking to exit, even when I explained some nervousness. Highly recommend

Very efficient, professional. Pleasant and clean environment. I had what felt like a tooth infection. They were able to see me right away and diagnosed the issue.

I was a new patient with a swollen face and in pain. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. Dr Tasch came in was so gentle. He explained I needed to see and oral surgeon soon. His office staff promptly got me an appointment that day. I was given an oral injection which numbed the pain. I will return when the oral surgery heals and released from surgeon. Thank you, Dr . Tasch assistant and office. Jennifer Reeves

I was visiting Austin from Canada, while the permanent retainer on my bottom teeth snapped —Must have been all that delicious BBQ. 38th Street Dental made the time to see me the next morning and charged me a fair price to have the retainer safely removed. Dr. Tasch, the receptionist and supporting dental staff were all so friendly and professional. I felt like I was in good hands. My teeth feel great, thank you team!

My wife and I have been patients (she Meek, me Tasch) for 30 yrs! They’ve always taken great care of us! They don’t push products or unnecessary procedures. For instance, when I had some periodontal issues, requiring 3 mo visits, they were quick to let me know once things were resolved enough to return to my 6 mo routine. I know of other folks who had a hard time at other practices getting off the 3 mo train! And, after I got my first temp crown and had an issue over a weekend (obviously!), Dr Tasch was gracious enough to meet me on a Sat to reset it.

I know no one likes to see their dentist but I love seeing mine. Dr. Tasch and his staff make sure I understand my treatment that is scheduled for that day. The office is always clean and relaxing to come into. Throughout my treatment him and his assistant make sure I'm comfortable and doing well. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

A very amazing and friendly place. They do thorough and gentle teeth cleaning. No more sore gums after cleaning. The stuff is friendly patient, and easy to talk to. Waiting time is always minimal. They do charge more so they can focus on providing high quality services rather than selling extra things to you. But it is so worth it. Highly recommend this place.
