I returned to this Acorn location because we had previously had a positive experience here. After what happened to my daughter at another Acorn location last June, I wanted to give this office the opportunity to earn back my trust. From the moment I called to schedule, I explained our previous experience. The front desk told me they needed to speak with the office manager before scheduling us, which immediately made me feel uneasy. My 10-year-old daughter was in significant tooth pain at the time. Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend the appointment, so her grandmother took her. According to my daughter’s grandmother, the appointment itself went smoothly. Two days later, after requesting a call back from the dentist, I was told my daughter was very nervous and had her hands up by her mouth during the exam, and because of that they would not perform treatment in the office. Instead, they recommended she undergo general anesthesia elsewhere for the procedure and then return to Acorn afterward. I found that recommendation difficult to understand. What concerned me even more was that after speaking with my daughter’s grandmother, who was with her throughout the entire appointment, she told me my daughter’s hands remained at her sides the whole time and that the appointment was uneventful. That left me questioning the accuracy of the documentation in her chart. As a parent, trust is everything. After two disappointing experiences at two different Acorn locations, I no longer feel confident that my daughter’s care is being approached with the patience, compassion, and communication that an anxious child deserves. I had hoped this visit would restore my confidence in Acorn, but unfortunately it had the opposite effect.

I love the care that all of the staff took to treat my kids like humans and not another time slot. Did not feel rushed at all, even though I messed up the appointment times. The whole team took the time to make sure I understood what was going on instead of rapidly reciting a script. I’m super happy with their service, atmosphere and treatment.

Love this place for our kids. Our kids feel so safe and comfortable.
