About Advanced Dental Care
Advanced Dental Care is a full-service dental practice on Joralemon Street in Brooklyn Heights, New York. The office handles general, cosmetic, restorative, and orthodontic dentistry at one downtown-adjacent location, so patients can move from a routine checkup to more involved treatment without being referred across the borough.
Preventive and restorative dentistry forms the core of the practice. Routine examinations and cleanings keep teeth and gums healthy, while restorative care addresses problems as they arise — root canal treatment to save an infected tooth, dental implants to replace missing teeth, full mouth rehabilitation for patients rebuilding extensive damage, and wisdom teeth removal. Gum and periodontal care is available for patients managing gum disease, and the practice treats functional concerns including TMJ/TMD jaw pain and sleep apnea.
On the cosmetic side, Advanced Dental Care offers teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, smile makeovers, and dental jewelry for patients focused on the appearance of their smile. Orthodontic treatment is available through both traditional braces and Invisalign clear aligners, giving teens and adults a choice between fixed and removable correction. Urgent problems are handled through the clinic’s emergency dentistry service, and sedation dentistry options are available for patients who feel anxious about treatment or are scheduled for longer appointments.
Bringing this many services together in one practice means a patient can often move from diagnosis to treatment without being referred between separate offices. A new-patient visit typically begins with a thorough examination and any necessary imaging, after which more involved treatment is planned in clear stages so patients understand the cost and timeline before care begins.
The Brooklyn Heights location is convenient to Downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill, and DUMBO, and is reachable by several nearby subway lines. I've been going to Advanced Dental for 3 years now and I always have a great experience. The doctors and techs and front office staff are always really nice and helpful and do what they say they will do. I always get great care too. I definitely recommend them. 07/07/26 Updating my review. I can say the staff here is very very nice! That's a definite. But I find it really frustrating how bifurcated the teams are bc they dont seem to communicate great across teams. There are also people in between the teams (who represent the doctors and provide guidance on care, coordinators, i guess) but the ball seems to get dropped here. A year ago, I had an issue with a molar and was recommended to use sensodyne. Recently, I complained again and was referred to an orthodontist who found I have a crack on my molar and need a cap. When I went to the office where they talk to me about pricing (to the coordinator) they quoted me nearly $3000. The person said the insurance will cover a different type of material but bc it's a molar they recommend a much stronger material which isn't covered. The doctor never talked to me about this. That's not a small thing. I have been trying to speak with the orthodontist for several weeks to understand if this is really necessary. No luck. They said the rep can speak on behalf of the orthodontist. No they can't! Still waiting. I was recommended braces a year ago bc my teeth are moving. They submitted a request to my insurance and even though the insurance responded requesting more info, they never followed up. So this year we resubmitted, at my insistence, and many months later, even though the insurance had responded, I was the one who spoke with the insurance company and got a list of items they needed and sent that to the office. I followed up again and they resubmitted all that was needed. That's the job of the coordinator. I remember when they first told me how much it would be they quoted me $7000 like it was nothing! Like I said, I like the people there but I feel like I should have gone to a different office a long time ago. I stayed bc they've taken x-rays adnosium and I would have to start all over again somewhere else but at this point is just super frustrating. And the crazy part is, and I said this to them, that to them it doesn't matter who pays but if they had followed up correctly they would have gotten several thousands of dollars worth of work on me, that my insurance would have paid for and we both would be happy. At this point, all I know is I can't afford either procedure and I'm not sure how much longer i will be at my job to be able to use my insurance. Supper frustrating!!!
Great and compassionate staff, from the front desk to the deft hygienists to the very funny endodontist (thank you Dr Kelley!)
Today, as always, I had Dr. Amirian's complete attention during my visit. My teeth (both the ones that originally grew in my mouth, and the implants provided by Dr. Amirian) look terrific, and I couldn't be more pleased about having Dr. Amirian and his staff look after my dental needs. Also, they will find time to see me immediately if I'm hurting, or something cracked.
Today was my first time visiting with Dr. Kelly. He examined me, put me at ease and answered all my questions. I look forward to my next visit when i will be getting a root canal. I feel at ease going forward and I feel comfortable with Dr. Kelly performing the procedure.
These guys, basically milked my insurance. I had a referral from my primary dentist office, to see an endodontist. Ok... I chose Advance Dental because they were an "in network" office. However, Advance Dental, said they don't take outside referrals and I therefore had to do a visit with there dentist before I could be seen by their endodontist for a consult... Ok... During the initial dentist visit with them, although I had recent x-rays from my primary dentist, they took their own and ended up telling me what I had already knew, and been told by my primary dentist. Ofc this visit and the x-rays went towards my annual alloted dental funds. Nevertheless, I waited a week for my "consult" with the endodontist, where an MRI was taken, only to be told that, I had an out of pocket expensive of $1,000 For a reroot canal, and would have to set another appointment if I agreed... They said my insurance pays $1,4000, but they charge $2,400. I explained that as an "in-network" provider, they'd be contractually obligated to perform the procedure within the price range negotiated between them and the insurance company... They didn't have an answer and went to some back room to talk, only to return and state that it'll take 3 weeks for a pre-authorization, and even then I'd have to come out of pocket $1,000. I explained that I'd be writing this review and filing a grievance via my insurance company. The place just seems like a big money grab from the hard working people like myself who's union pays for good dental insurance. Hell, I didn't even pay anywhere near $1,000, out of pocket for my implant, done by Park Dental of Brooklyn on Knickerbocker! I wouldn't suggest Advance Dental to anyone!
THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING! From the front desk, to the manager, to the procedure. I was so scared to get my tooth pulled that I cried a little bit. I do have bad nerves but the staff made sure I was ready and comfortable. Dr. Xiao was extremely patient and understanding. She also pulled that tooth so fast!!! I’m still in shock 2 weeks later!! DA Ruth actually held my hand and she turned on the vibration to help calm my nerves. Loved that. Can’t forget about Ikye at the front desk who kept reassuring me that everything was going to be ok, and it actually was! I got out of the chair SMILING because I was so happy!!! Would highly recommend!!
Dr Amirian and staff at this facility are simply the best! As my dentist for over 3 years, I have found him to be very patient, kind, knowledgeable and supportive. He is very thorough and professional with his patients. In addition, the staff is friendly and does an excellent job of making you feel relaxed and comfortable before procedures, alleviating any anxieties. I will always recommend Dr. Amirian to anyone.
I am so happy I found this dental practice. I was able to schedule an appointment in less than 24 hours. Dr. Moskowitz and the whole team have been very helpful, kind, and caring. My concerns were taken seriously and my treatment options were explained clearly. I felt safe and cared for. Highly recommended.
I first came to Advanced Dental Care as an emergency visit. I was treated by Dr. Moskowitz and he was amazing. I've stayed with Advanced Dental Care since, not only because of Dr. Moskowitz, but the whole staff. The hygienist's are all professional, kind and gentle. The administrative staff are friendly, efficient and patient. I am technically challenged and was having issues using my phone to make my payment. Ikye was incredibly sweet and patient and took care of it for me. It's a pleasure coming to an office with the all around quality of Advanced Dental Care.
I initially came to this dentist with an insane toothache from a way overdue root canal and safe to say Dr Moskowitz will be my go to dentist from here on out! The knowledge, patience and genuine care he gave me was off the charts. He kept me informed the entire procedure and scheduled a follow up a couple weeks later just to check how I’m healing and confirmed I’m healing perfectly. His team at front desk was just as warm hearted. Ikye and Marolin are gems, not only do you feel welcomed the minute you step into the office but also such a calming presence around them. From the minute you step into their office, you feel like you’re in safe hands, and based on my experience, you are. I highly recommend them. 10/10 dental experience
They are trashed. The iimplants suck and the color is off all the way. How you put in implants and not make them match your other teeth. Always excuses but will take your money. You change your name from Brooklyn Dental to Advanced dental because you got bad reviews. The commercial is a LIE.. Money down the drain.. You can never get the front desk. It’s always a different person you talking to and they must be working from home. No direct line to the front desk. My mother wants them removed so its was just a waste. How you got two different people doing implants. It’s like they training on your mouth. Who does this???like he does half and then you have a lady dentist do the rest. Asking can you handle the rest smh. This business not even BBB approved because it can’t pass the qualifications to be a good business
