About Advanced Dentistry & Implant Center

Advanced Dentistry & Implant Center operates on East Dynamite Boulevard in the Village At Troon area of Scottsdale, Arizona. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. How long do dental implants last?
The implant itself is designed to be permanent and frequently lasts decades. The crown attached to it is the part more likely to need replacing over time, and implants can still be lost to gum infection if cleaning is neglected.
How long does it take to get used to new dentures?
Several weeks is typical, and speech and eating usually feel awkward at first. Sore spots in the early stage are common and are adjusted rather than endured — they are not something to put up with.
What is the difference between full and partial dentures?
A full denture replaces all the teeth in a jaw, while a partial fills the gaps where some natural teeth remain and clips onto them for support. Which applies depends simply on how many teeth are left and their condition.

Dr Oh is excellent. I'm happy to have him as my dentist? I had a fantastic experience at this Scottsdale dental office! The team is warm and professional, the office is spotless and modern, and Dr. Oh is truly outstanding—skilled, gentle, and thorough. My visit was quick, comfortable, and top-notch from start to finish. Highly recommend this great dentist to anyone in the area!

I wanna sincerely thank and recommend advanced dentistry and implant center. I have never been happier than I am. Working with Dr. James Oh and his staff . Over the past year, I did extensive research on dental implant centers, and I truly feel I chose the right place. From the very beginning the team, Lisa , Cynthia and Taylor were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They made me feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire process. Doctor Oh himself went above and beyond, taking the time to explain in detail what to expect from the surgery, the care involved, and the results I could look forward to.I've never had a dentist or an oral surgeon provide such thorough guidance and reassurance. I now have a smile.I can feel proud of thank you!

My husband said he came here the other day and I was expecting the best service considering the reviews, but that’s not what he said happened. I do not recommend coming here he mentioned that there was this passive aggressive energy from the dentist which I believe is Dr. O towards his OWN staff. How unprofessional is it to act like that in front of your patient. Unbelievable.

Best dentist I've ever had hands down! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out here with Dr. Oh. I choose to be under no sedation, so I was 100% coherent though the whole surgey. Let me tell you, Dr. Oh is AMAZING. The surgery went so quick and smoothly with no complications. Him and his dental assistant had such good communication. The staff is all very sweet and very professional. They provided a plastic cleaning syringe with after care instructions. That night, Dr. Oh texted me to make sure I was doing well. He is so sweet. I had a check up a week after, today, and I'm healing perfectly! This is a very professional and caring office. Thank you Dr. Oh, Pam the hygentist, and staff for making this experience a great one! 🦷🪥

My wife and I were looking for a Dentist since moving to Arizona full time last year and had our first appointment today. The office is clean, pleasant and everyone is very kind and professional. They took the time to fully understand our history, our concerns and explain care going forward to keep our teeth as healthy and beautiful as possible. Thank you 😊
