About Alabama Surgical Arts
Alabama Surgical Arts operates on Woodmere Boulevard in Montgomery, Alabama. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.
Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. Aaron was amazing. The staff here are always top notch. Thanks for the great care.
Professionals at work. Love my visit was in and out with no problems
Acyon (I hope I pronounced it right) Was very nice and made me feel comfortable before my wisdom teeth surgery. I would definitely recommend her to anybody the procedure was definitely not as painful as I thought it would be!
Dr. Nizam is a fantastic oral surgeon, & I would recommend him to anyone who needs dental work completed. He is exceptionally skilled at what he does & is constantly researching new techniques & treatments to better help his patients. Most importantly, he was the only person who was both willing & able to help me. For that, I will be forever grateful. My dental journey has been incredibly difficult. I have a rare issue where I am unable to get numb with local anesthetics. Many medications have little to no effect on me. While hereditary, I also have Graves' Disease, which increases metabolism & heart rate, making dental procedures even more challenging. Due to painful childhood experiences, I became terrified of dentists. I visited countless dental offices, & all of them either refused to believe I couldn't get numb or continued procedures despite my pain. As a teenager, one dentist gave me so many injections in an attempt to numb me that my body began shaking uncontrollably. Despite all of them, I never became numb. They eventually told me they couldn't help me. For years afterward, I lived with constant, agonizing dental pain. I couldn't eat anything hard or requiring much chewing. Brushing my teeth hurt, but I still did it. I also struggled with acid reflux for years, which further damaged my teeth despite medication. Then came three pregnancies. My teeth were already in poor condition before my first pregnancy, but pregnancy made everything worse. I spent years contacting dentists across multiple states, calling offices all over the country, but no one could help me. I began to believe I would have to live with the pain while my teeth continued to deteriorate. During my second pregnancy, the pain became so severe that I had to have a tooth extracted because it posed a risk to my baby. That was also when I first found Dr. Nizam. After years of searching, he was the first doctor who truly listened & took my situation seriously. Shortly afterward, another tooth broke. My teeth continued chipping & falling apart. Before I could move forward with treatment, I became pregnant again, so I had to continue enduring the pain until after delivery. Two weeks after giving birth to my third child, I finally had enough money to return & begin treatment. Even then, I only had enough for the surgery itself, not the implants I ultimately needed. Despite that, Dr. Nizam & his team worked with me & offered flexible financing. From the beginning, he listened & took my concerns seriously. He believed me when others had not. He even tried to find someone who could provide IV sedation to potentially save my natural teeth. When that was not possible, he took on the challenge himself & did everything he could to help me. Thanks to Dr. Nizam, many of my lower teeth were saved, & I received Hybrid FP1 implants on my upper arch. The results have truly changed my life. For the first time in years, I can eat comfortably, smile with confidence, & live without constant pain. Dr. Nizam and his team have made every visit a positive experience. This is an oral surgery practice where procedures are performed throughout the day, so schedules can occasionally shift. Even so, I have always been seen in a timely manner, & I appreciate that Dr. Nizam takes the time needed for each patient instead of rushing care. He is incredibly knowledgeable, straightforward, compassionate, & genuinely cares about his patients. His entire team reflects those same qualities. Yolanda, Char, Kaylee, Beth, Echo, Abby, Skylar, Dr. Nizam, & his wife Lily have all been kind & supportive. They consistently went above & beyond. Thank you, Dr. Nizam & your entire team, for giving me my life back, treating me with compassion, believing me when others would not, & ensuring I never had to endure that level of pain again. I cannot recommend him highly enough for anyone needing an oral surgeon who is skilled, compassionate, & willing to take on complex cases.
Everything was so professional. Dr Nizam is great and his nurse ,Cameron, is super. I enjoyed my experience. They go above and beyond for their patients.
I can’t recommend Sarah enough! She has done both my laser treatments and eyebrow waxing, and I have been extremely happy with the results every time. She is very knowledgeable, professional, and clearly takes pride in her work. Sarah always takes the time to explain the process, answer any questions, and make sure I’m comfortable throughout my appointment. Her attention to detail is amazing, especially with my eyebrows—they always look perfect when she’s done. On top of being great at what she does, Sarah is incredibly friendly and welcoming. She creates a relaxing atmosphere and makes every visit enjoyable. If you’re looking for an aesthetician who is skilled, experienced, and genuinely cares about her clients, I highly recommend Sarah!
I do not typically leave reviews, whether positive or negative, and I took some time before writing this because I did not want my emotions to influence my comments unfairly. However, after reflecting on my experience, I feel it is important to share it so that others are aware of the level of service I received. In January, I had a consultation for a dental implant procedure and scheduled the surgery for the following week. The procedure itself went well. My follow-up appointment was scheduled for April 28 at 10:00 a.m. I arrived on time for my appointment, but after checking in, I noticed several patients were called back ahead of me. At least three patients were already waiting when I arrived, and four additional patients who arrived after me were also seen and completed their visits before I was called back. By approximately 11:30 a.m., after waiting an hour and a half, I asked the receptionist how much longer the wait would be. She stated she would check and later informed me it would be another 15–20 minutes because they were preparing the room. I was finally called back around 11:45–11:50 a.m. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment or apology for the lengthy delay. After X-rays were taken, I was placed in the exam room where Dr. Nizam entered. Again, there was no greeting or apology regarding the extended wait time. During the procedure to expose the implant post, I was told I would feel “a little stick,” but the procedure was unexpectedly painful and brought tears to my eyes. The procedure lasted approximately 10–15 minutes. Once it was completed, the doctor exited the room without any additional communication or reassurance. I left the office feeling extremely emotional and discouraged by the overall experience. I was so upset that I had to leave work and return home. This was, without question, the most distressing experience I have ever had in a dental office. When I later returned to my regular dentist, I expressed that I would not want to be referred back to this facility for any future procedures. Throughout this experience, I did not feel that my time, comfort, or care were valued. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office.
From the moment I walked into the medspa, the receptionist Ramsey was welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind. She made check-in quick and easy and was very helpful with answering all of my questions. My esthetician Erin was equally amazing. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and took the time to really understand my skin concerns before starting the treatment. She explained everything clearly, which made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. Hands down the best experience.
My daughter suffered a traumatic injury to her two front teeth and had been dealing with the effects for years. She was finally old enough to have implants done, and her case was unique due to the extent of the damage. Dr. Ivory and everyone in the office were absolutely wonderful. They did an amazing job with her new teeth. They thoroughly explained every option and walked us through each step of the process. I truly couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We are so grateful for their expertise, care, and attention to detail.
If you need an Ear Lobe repair, LOOK NO FUTHER! From the consultation to the recovery, the experience was nothing short of amazing. Dr. Nizam was great and my ear is healing great. The stars for me were the supporting staff. Emma (coordinator) always made sure that I was able to be fit in around my schedule and literally always checked on me when I was in the office like a friend, Kaylee (surgical assistant) helped to keep my nerves calm during the entire procedure, and Cameron (RN) was always friendly and became a friend by the end of it all. Overall, I have to thank this team for everything and will be back in the future for other needs!
