About Alamo Maxillofacial Surgical Associates

Alamo Maxillofacial Surgical Associates operates on Huebner Road in the Northwest Side area of San Antonio, Texas. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery covers surgical conditions of the face, jaw, and mouth, from wisdom teeth and jaw realignment through to facial trauma and reconstruction, carried out by surgeons trained in both dentistry and surgery.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. My son got his all wisdom teeth removed at Dr. Hanna’s office. Dr. Hanna is very skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate towards patients. All the office staff is very kind and helpful. I am giving 4 stars because even after insurance my out of pocket expense /copay was $1500 which is very high.

Dr Torres and his staff were amazing. My special needs daughter needed a tooth extraction and she was upset about the process. They talked to her, made her feel comfortable the doctor held her hand. The procedure was fast, they woke her up slowly, and we were on our merry way. She did not complain about pain but I gave her medication any way for a few days. Thank you Dr Torres

Very gentle and accommodating practice. Gave me a blanket during my extraction when I said it was cold :) My recovery was quick, and I experienced no pain. Dr. Hanna was precise with the procedure and approachable for me as a patient! 5 out of 5 would recommend.

Amazing care from this office! Several family members have been treated there and told me how great they were. Dr. Clarke was amazing and very professional, understanding too that I was anxious about oral surgery. I’m looking forward to seeing Dr. Hanna for the next step in my implant process. Accepts Tricare Dental which is huge!
