About Alamo Springs Dental

Alamo Springs Dental provides dental care on Galm Road in the Far West Side area of San Antonio, Texas. A professional cleaning removes the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and is the core of routine preventive care. Most people benefit from a cleaning roughly every six months, more often for those managing gum disease.

Affordable care means the practice sets out to make treatment accessible on a self-pay basis or through a payment arrangement, rather than assuming every patient arrives with comprehensive insurance. It is worth asking directly what options exist before assuming a needed treatment is out of reach.

At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. I had an amazing experience at Alamo Springs Dental with Dr. Moreno. I came in for a second opinion after dealing with constant pain for months from a filling done at another office. I had been in pain every single day since March, especially when flossing or eating. She took the time to listen, evaluate the issue, and ended up redoing the filling and the difference was immediate! The very next day, my pain was completely gone. I can finally eat on that side again and floss with zero discomfort, which I haven’t been able to do in months… What really stood out to me was how precise and knowledgeable she was. She fixed something in one visit that had been bothering me for a long time. I also had no soreness after the procedure, which honestly surprised me. I’m so grateful I decided to come here. If you’re dealing with dental pain or need a second opinion, I highly recommend Dr. Moreno and her team. They truly made a huge difference for me! ❤️

My daughter and I recently visited Alamo Springs Dental as first-time patients, and we had a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and courteous. The staff made us feel comfortable and took the time to answer our questions. The office was clean and professional, and our visit went smoothly from start to finish. We were very pleased with the care we received and have absolutely no complaints. I would definitely recommend Alamo Springs Dental to anyone looking for a great dental office!

I was quickly given an appointment. The hygienist and dentist were welcoming and were able to spot my cavities and need for treatment. I was given a referral for oral surgery and I have an appointment to have a wisdom tooth pulled plus I will go back to Alamo Springs to get fillings. All for a minimum copay as my insurance covers almost all of the dental services. Many thanks to all including the receptionist who made sure I got the right sequence of appointments set up

Moved here and was concerned about picking a new dentist. I considered just driving back to mine twice a year. She's out of town. Glad I picked here! Nice. Helpful. Fun. Autumn is the best hygienist I've ever had! Calm. Thoughtful. Knowledgeable. Explains everything with a gentleness in her voice. Dr Michele is nice, gentle, understanding and listened to me. I felt heard and valued. Not out to just make money or sell you some service.

Always professional and upfront about treatment plan/cost. My personal experience has been with both Dr Anderson and Dr Moreno. They are kind and take their time so you are comfortable. The dental assistants and hygienist are very friendly and informative during the treatment. Front office staff is always professional and smiling. We love it and my whole family is going to them now. 5/5 stars!

I had a wonderful first time experience at Alamo Springs Dental! Everyone from the front desk team, to the back office staff/dentist were courteous, professional and had excellent customer service and people skills. I was especially impressed by Cassie, the young lady who did my XRays and prepared me for the dentist exam. She was very thorough in her explanations, and very gentle throughout my entire visit. I tend to have major anxiety when I go to the dentist, because of bad experiences. However, Dr. Anderson is very welcoming and has a warm and gentle spirit that immediately put me at ease. She gave me a very thorough exam and I appreciate that she made recommendations based on her findings as well as my concerns and desires for things that I would like to change or address with my smile. I in thurley, impressed with this office and hope to make this my for ever dental home. I look forward to my next visit. ❤️
