About Alaska Dental Care

Alaska Dental Care occupies suite 200 at 4000 Old Seward Highway in Midtown Anchorage — an address on one of the city's major north-south arterials, positioned near the Tudor Road intersection that anchors much of Midtown's commercial density. Old Seward Highway is accessible from the Mountain View, Eastchester, and Muldoon neighbourhoods to the east, as well as from the residential streets west of the highway through Rogers Park and Fairview.

The service profile is built around family general dentistry — a foundation of preventive and restorative care that serves patients across age groups. Dental implants are on the list alongside the more routine services, which means the practice handles tooth replacement without routing patients to an oral surgeon or periodontist. For families in Midtown Anchorage who want a primary dental care relationship that also covers implant needs when they arise, in-house implant capability removes a significant logistical step.

Orthodontic treatment in both braces and Invisalign formats is offered, covering the full alignment spectrum from complex adolescent cases requiring fixed appliances through to adult mild-to-moderate cases that work well with removable aligners. In the Midtown Anchorage market — which serves the highest population density in the city — having orthodontic capability alongside general dentistry reduces the need for a separate specialist relationship for patients who need both routine dental care and alignment correction.

Bruxism treatment is on the service list — bite guard fabrication and occlusal assessment for patients who grind or clench during sleep. Bruxism causes identifiable patterns of wear on occlusal surfaces, particularly on canines and posterior teeth, and untreated grinding accelerates enamel loss, contributes to tooth sensitivity, and increases fracture risk for existing restorations and natural teeth. Occlusal appliances interrupt the grinding cycle and reduce compressive forces transmitted to teeth during sleep.

Veneers and teeth whitening cover the cosmetic range. Porcelain veneers at a family practice address the overlap between cosmetic goals and restorative function — a veneer applied to a structurally sound but esthetically compromised tooth can serve both purposes without the full-coverage preparation that a crown requires. In-office whitening using light-activated peroxide gel can brighten most natural tooth shades by several Vita guide steps in a single chairside session.

For Midtown Anchorage patients in the Old Seward Highway and Tudor Road corridor looking for a family dental practice with implant capability, orthodontics, and cosmetic coverage in a single clinical relationship, the suite 200 address at 4000 Old Seward Highway provides that combination in a high-accessibility location.

At Alaska Dental Care, our goal is to provide the highest quality of dental services, in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, with a commitment to excellent customer service. From the moment you enter our dental office and meet our team, you will realize that this office is not like any other dentist in Anchorage you have visited. First time client, and I’ll be a returning client. The staff are really nice, welcoming, and have a great sense of humor! The atmosphere was very comfortable and I loved the Netflix option during my service. Already referring the office to all of my colleagues at work. :-)

This office is truly one of a kind! The entire team is so kind and professional, and they make you feel genuinely valued as a person, not just a patient. They are understanding of everyone’s unique financial situation and make sure quality dental care feels accessible. Their attentiveness goes above and beyond. The exam chairs have a built-in massage feature, a TV that swivels right above you while they work, and the techs will offer chapstick if your lips are dry and give you jaw breaks without you even having to ask. If you struggle with dental anxiety, this is the place for you. They are patient, supportive, and make the whole experience as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend!

I switched to Alaska Dental Care when my prior dentist didn't take my new grade of Delta Dental Insurance after I switched jobs. Note that my prior dental office didn't clarify this situation with the insurance before my last appointment and then billed me in the neighborhood of $400 (which seems like an excessive difference) for the visit. I was used to a moderate copay, which I found annoying but tolerable. Fast-forward to my short time with Alaska Dental Care, and I have yet to be billed for anything! They take my insurance and it seems to cover all basic services that come with general cleanings and exams WITHOUT any extra charges. This was a huge relief to me after my years of experience with my former provider. In addition to my pleasant surprise with the billing system, everyone at Alaska Dental Care has been extremely nice and easy to work with. They made scheduling my initial visit easy, patiently helped transfer my records (the hardest part was dealing with my old provider), and make exams fast and simple. The front desk even helped me schedule appointments in advance so I can have peace of mind. So far, I am loving the care this dental office shows, and I am looking forward to the ease and comfort of knowing I have reliable and affordable dental care moving forward.

This was my first visit and was very positive. I was received by the reception team with welcoming and friendly smiles. The dental hygienist was very friendly and meticulous. The doctor was also friendly. He explained with clarity the importance of having a procedure needed to be performed to prevent further complications.

I’ve been going here for nearly 18 years. Theres a reason! All of the dentists are great but I mostly see Dr. Gardner. He has been amazing, as has his staff- all the way to the front desk. Just an incredible and warm experience every time and the work done is top notch. I’ve had many people I know leave their dentist’s office and switch over to Alaska Dental Care from my referral- because it’s that great!
