About Amazing Kidz Pediatric Dentistry

Based on East Brown Road in the Groves area of Mesa, Arizona, Amazing Kidz Pediatric Dentistry is a dental practice serving the area. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Are dental X-rays safe for children?
Modern digital X-rays use a very low dose and are taken only when there is a clinical reason. They show decay between teeth and problems with developing adult teeth that cannot be seen by looking.
How do I stop my child getting cavities?
Brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, supervising until they have the dexterity to do it properly, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear during the day. Frequency of sugar matters more than the total amount.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

Facility is always clean. Instruments that were being used were immediately cleaned and sanitized and not sitting around. They even have the children wash and sanitize their hands as they walk back to the exam area. Clear information was provided about next steps for care and appointment setting was easy.

Steff, Mia, and Marcela were great to clean all 3 of my children’s teeth at the same time! Respectful, thorough, and they educate as they go. We travel over an hour to our favorite dentist office because they always take such good care of us. Dr Shultz is fantastic!

We have had nothing but good experiences at Amazing Kidz Pediatric Dentistry. Mia, the dental hygienist, is by far the best pediatric hygienist we have experienced. She is so patient. She takes the time to explain every part of the cleaning and procedure at a kid level. She is kind, caring, and efficient.

All staff friendly and great with kids. Makes sure things are always done properly with my insurance. Dr Shults is very thorough and takes time to make sure kids and parents are educated on teeth health, habits, and options if further treatment is needed. One of my kids was born with dentin freckles and he did a beautiful job fixing the front teeth aesthetically at the same time my kid needed dental anesthesia for another treatment.
