About American Institute of Dental Assisting New Mexico

Based on South Power Road in Mesa, Arizona, American Institute of Dental Assisting New Mexico is a dental practice serving the area. Comprehensive care generally means a practice can handle most of a patient's dental needs in-house — preventive, restorative, and often minor cosmetic or surgical treatment — reducing how often patients are referred elsewhere for routine work.

At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. Went to AIDA today for a routine exam. From the moment I walked into the clinic I was treated well and everyone was very friendly. Getting the paperwork completed with Karissa was a breeze. The students did a good job of explaining each step of the process and I could hear their instructor giving them quality feedback and insights. Dr. Olivia did my exam and was thorough in the process and provided me with tangible steps I can take to continue improving my dental health. Was a great experience!

I have never been so disappointed in my life. I went to get a few fillings done here and they pretty much grinded my teeth way too short to where most of my teeth are just filling now and they are discolored and left big chunks of glue showing. Please be careful where you decide to get dental work done. I would recommend going anywhere but here. I went back multiple times to get it fixed and they ended up making it worse each time.

AIDA stood out from the jump in compared to the other DA programs & I’m glad I stuck with them. All the AIDA staff has been completely helpful & their curriculum is so well put that it’s made my learning experience completely smooth even while juggling my life outside of school. I highly recommend AIDA to anyone who is interested in becoming a dental assistant!

I went through AIDA for my Dental Assistant Certification and it was fantastic. I am currently working for an oral surgery office and I absolutely love it. Monique is amazing one of my favorite people who work at AIDA. She helped me and continues to help me schedule times to come in to practice. She is so friendly and supportive. I love all the AIDA team but Monique truly goes above and beyond for the students and patients.

I had an amazing experience at the American Institute of Dental Assisting Clinic in Mesa! After going to a private dental office and being quoted over $4,000 for dental work, including a deep cleaning and 6 cavities, I felt overwhelmed and discouraged. Although this clinic does not perform deep cleanings, Carissa went above and beyond to help point me in the right direction and helped me find another school where I could receive a deep cleaning for free. That level of kindness and genuine care meant so much to me. I was able to get all 6 cavities fixed here for only $510, which was life-changing compared to the quote I originally received. The staff and students were absolutely wonderful — professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and they made me feel comfortable every step of the way. I truly cannot recommend this office enough. Hopefully I won’t need any more dental work anytime soon, but if I do, I will absolutely be returning. Thank you to everyone at the Mesa location for making dental care affordable and such a positive experience!

I love AIDA schooling so much! I have learned so many new things at this school, my favorite thing about this school is that it is very hands on. I feel like I have a really good understanding of how the dental assisting world is going to be because of AIDA schooling. The teachers are also very nice and they are always making sure that you understand the concepts they are teaching you. I would 100% recommend AIDA for anyone who is even thinking of going into the dental assisting field. I am so happy that I chose to attend this school!
