About AMOS (Associates In Maxillofacial & Oral Surgery)
AMOS (Associates In Maxillofacial & Oral Surgery) is a dental practice on North Spruce Street in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery covers surgical conditions of the face, jaw, and mouth, from wisdom teeth and jaw realignment through to facial trauma and reconstruction, carried out by surgeons trained in both dentistry and surgery.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. I had a tooth removed by Dr. HULL. It was an excellent experience! I’ve had no issues and no pain following the removal of the tooth. In addition to excellent dental services, the staff was also outstanding and communicated wonderfully. They got me in for surgery the very first day that I contacted them. The surgery took approximately 15 minutes, was wonderfully performed and painless! I would highly recommend Dr. HULL and his organization for anyone in need of a tooth removal. Just as an aside, I was also extremely pleased with the affordability of their services! And in fact, I was somewhat surprised by the very reasonable price. Again, I would highly recommend disorganization should you need A tooth removed.
Front desk staff has been rude every time I've called for no reason. Even when I'm being very respectful. After seeing the other reviews I see I'm not the only one. No communication for something as serious as a bone graph & a dental implant that costs me almost 6000$. A couple months ago when I asked to confirm my appointment they were rude about that too and she even hung up on me when when I told her I wanted to cancle my procedure. Very unprofessional would not recommend
The folks at AMOS were AMAZING! My mom was having horrible tooth pain right after a shingles break out and was on the brink of ripping out her tooth herself! Thankfully Andréa and Dr. Bandrowsky came to her rescue! They were able to see her on the same day she called for help and also listened to her needs as well as her specific wishes to have the tooth extracted. They agreed with her that it needed to be taken out and did it all in the same day! I was so impressed with their care and efficiency, and my mom walked out a totally different person since she was no longer in any pain. Thank you so much AMOS!
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Hull and was very impressed with his professionalism and the quality of care provided. However, I would like to share some feedback regarding the service I received from the office staff, particularly the billing department. Despite the convenience of uploading insurance information online, it seems this data was not fully utilized, which led to unnecessary complications. Additionally, a proper introduction from the staff member who attended me would have been appreciated, as their role in my care was not made clear to me. Unfortunately, their demeanor came across as rude and unprofessional, which was disappointing. Furthermore, the interaction with the individual responsible for providing my estimate was less than satisfactory. It appeared that there was a quickness to assign blame to me for a misunderstanding that was not my fault. The overall experience left me feeling that the importance of a welcoming and professional atmosphere was not upheld by every staff member. I hope that by bringing this to your attention, it can contribute to enhancing the experience for future patients. Your dedication to continuous improvement is valued, and I trust that this feedback will be received constructively.
I needed to get a wisdom tooth extracted, and I was so relieved to have been referred to this place! Alex was so friendly and supportive and Dr Hull made me feel very comfortable and at ease , by the time I could feel him in my mouth the procedure was already over. I didn’t feel a thing! I am so relieved and thankful for having such a wonderful experience with such a scary procedure. Thank you for your service! Y’all are amazing!!!!!!!!♥️
I had my wisdom teeth out with Dr. Kevin Wright and it was an excellent experience. Everyone at AMOS was very kind and professional! I didn’t have to wait long for an appointment either, about 1 week for a consultation and half a week more for the surgery. I think the whole appt to have 2 upper impacted wisdom teeth removed took about 20 min. I just did local numbing and felt nothing. I usually dread getting dental work done, and was a bit apprehensive about oral surgery. So glad I called this office! They were very upfront and honest about their billing as well, as some offices low-balled me and after a consult wanted to charge me 2x as much! No surprises here, other than how quick and painless it was. I will recommend Dr. Wright and AMOS to anyone needing oral surgery. I really appreciate the service I received here, especially after weeks of tension headaches and jaw pain! Thank you all so much!
My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed here, and our experience was great. The prep that they do at the initial consultation is very thorough, and you leave with everything you need to be ready for the extraction. She came in, and they put her at ease, despite being a little nervous. I sat with her until they were ready to start, and the procedure was quick, with a very easy recovery over the next few days. For full disclosure, I will say that we were told her extraction, while necessary, was a very easy one. But, if my other daughters need there wisdom teeth removed, we will definitely be back.
