Arts-inspired general dentistry on Bardstown Road in Louisville's Tyler Park
Smyleee Rating
Very Good
Arts & Crafts Dental is located at 1160 Bardstown Road in the Tyler Park neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky — a general dental practice with a distinctive arts-inspired practice identity on one of Louisville's most culturally vibrant commercial streets. Bardstown Road runs southeast from downtown Louisville through the Highlands, Crescent Hill approaches, and NuLu-adjacent neighborhoods, and the section between the Douglass Loop and the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park area is famous for its concentration of independent restaurants, music venues, art galleries, boutique retailers, and professional services that give Bardstown Road its status as Louisville's most eclectic and walkable commercial corridor. Tyler Park, named for the Tyler Park greenspace near the Frankfort Avenue intersection, is one of the desirable in-town Louisville neighborhoods adjacent to the Bardstown Road corridor. The all-caps listing of "ARTS & CRAFTS DENTAL" gives the practice a bold visual presence consistent with the corridor's arts-forward identity.
Arts & Crafts Dental provides general dental care for adults and families in Louisville's Highlands and Tyler Park community. The practice name evokes the Arts and Crafts design movement of the early 20th century — an aesthetic philosophy emphasizing handcraft, natural materials, and simplicity over industrial mass production — which gives the practice a humanistic and craft-oriented brand identity that distinguishes it from the clinical, antiseptic dental office aesthetic of more conventional practices. A dental practice on Bardstown Road serves a patient base that skews toward Louisville's professional and creative classes — the educators, artists, healthcare workers, and young professionals who populate the Highlands' walkable neighborhoods — alongside the corridor's diverse mix of long-term Highlands residents and newer arrivals to Louisville's most desired in-town neighborhoods.
Bardstown Road's 1160 address provides excellent pedestrian and cyclist access for Tyler Park and Highlands residents, with TARC bus service along the corridor and ample street parking. Louisville's east-end dental corridor — including Chevy Chase, St. Matthews, and Middletown — serves patients who prefer a suburban professional environment, while Bardstown Road practices like Arts & Crafts Dental offer the urban neighborhood experience that aligns with the Highlands' live-work-play community identity. Specialist referrals for orthodontics, oral surgery, and periodontics point to Louisville Metro's well-developed specialist network.
For Tyler Park, Highlands, and NuLu-adjacent Louisville residents seeking a distinctive arts-identified dental practice on Bardstown Road, Arts & Crafts Dental at 1160 provides community-embedded general dentistry on one of Kentucky's most recognized urban commercial streets.

Doctor Linehan is kind and patient. He takes the time to make sure you're comfortable and practices with a gentle touch. As a new patient, I had so much anxiety from uncomfortable and painful dental experiences in the past. After seeing Dr. L a few times though, I feel like I can completely relax in his chair. I trust him not to hurt me and to do an excellent job working on my teeth. Latasha at the front desk is always very nice and helpful too. She always seems happy. The office itself is cozy, and it feels more like walking into your favorite distant, eccentric great uncle's den than waking into a dental office. I mean that in the best way.
First time patient. I came here because I was looking for a local dentist, and not a corporate entity. I was very impressed with the whole operation. It's a small homey location. Dr. Leningen personally cleaned my teeth. When was the last time a dentist actually cleaned your teeth. Very friendly and professional. Recommended.
I recommend both Dr. Young & Dr. Linehan highly! I have been extremely happy I started with this office a few years ago. With a recent Sunday emergency, they were able to call me back within 5 minutes to assure me I could be helped on Monday. They run a great practice both business wise and by being driven by care. If you are needing a new office, I recommend choosing this one!
The staff are professional and friendly. They’ve done excellent work on my teeth. The environment is cozy and welcoming. If you feel like your dentist treats you like a number rather than a patient, I’d highly recommend switching to Arts and Crafts Dental.
Established care recently, have had 2 lovely visits and can't recommend highly enough. I chose this practice to avoid the private equity/venture capital creep into medicine and have found every interaction wonderful. A referral to another dental specialist between these two visits was a similar practice and equally enjoyable.
