About Aspen Dental - Springfield, IL - West
A complete upper denture stays put largely by suction against the palate. A lower one has no such advantage: it rests on a ridge of bone that keeps shrinking in the years after teeth are lost, with the tongue working against it from the inside. That is why the lower plate is the one people struggle with, and why implants are so often proposed to anchor it rather than the upper. Understanding that difference before a consultation makes the conversation at Aspen Dental's Springfield West office a more useful one, since dentures and implants are the bulk of what happens here.
The office sits on South Veterans Parkway, the west-side retail corridor near White Oaks Mall — ample parking, straightforward from anywhere along Veterans, and reachable on a lunch break from most of the west end. Services cover general dentistry (cleanings, checkups, fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals), dentures and dental implants, oral surgery and extractions, emergency visits, whitening and Motto clear aligners. Having oral surgeons on the roster — Dr. Majd Haddad and Dr. Bilal Ibrahim, alongside Dr. Dwight Thompson — means surgical extractions and implant placement can happen in the same building as the restorative work instead of through an outside referral.
Expect adjustments afterwards. A new denture presses unevenly at first, sore spots appear within the first fortnight, and the remedy is usually a few minutes of chairside relief rather than a remake. Ask at the outset how many adjustment visits are included, because that one answer explains a good deal of the gap between a low quote and a higher one. Ridges also keep changing shape over the years, so a reline every few years is ordinary maintenance rather than a fault in the work.
First visits follow a set routine: a full series of radiographs, an examination, and a printed treatment plan with itemised pricing before you leave. That itemisation is genuinely useful, because it lists each procedure and fee separately and can be carried to another practice for a second quote on a large case. Insurance is accepted from most major carriers, though not Medicaid, and promotional discounts appear periodically — confirm the current exclusions rather than assuming a headline offer extends to implants or dentures.
The listed schedule opens at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday with a shorter Friday afternoon, plus a Saturday morning block that is worth confirming when you call, since weekend cover varies between offices in a chain this size. For an emergency — a fractured tooth, an abscess, facial swelling — telephone first thing rather than turning up unannounced. Same-day extraction slots do exist here, but they tend to be taken by mid-morning.
Aspen Dental's Springfield West office sits on South Veterans Parkway near White Oaks Mall, covering dentures, dental implants, general dentistry, oral surgery, emergency visits and Motto clear aligners. Oral surgeons practise alongside the restorative dentist, so extractions and implant placement happen in the same building. First visits produce a full set of radiographs and an itemised written plan, which is useful for a comparison quote. In-office financing runs through third-party lenders; Medicaid is not accepted.

Staff was very helpful and super friendly, even the dentist!
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Cleaning person, Janie, was excellent. gave helpful advice on ‘juggling’ cleaning new partial dentures with maintaining original teeth.
Aspen Dental was great. They got me in for a consultation and then back the next week to take care of the problem. Feeling much better now. In fact I liked them so much that I making them my new dentist. They have emergency hours and worked on getting me in asap to care for the issue. My old dentist had an emergency number to call but only seen patients M-T. No emergency after hour hours care there. There lose your gain.
I recently had to locate another dentist due to changes in my insurance. I found a friendly helpful staff at Aspen Dental on Veterans who made me feel instantly comfortable. Everything was explained in detail in easy to understand terms. If you are searching for dental care, I highly recommend Aspen!!
The staff is super friendly. Ashley, Jessica and Dreah were wonderful and very helpful. Which is why I gave it an extra star. The wait on the dentist was entirely too long and her attitude was terrible. I also went somewhere else to get a second opinion and was told I had 2 cavities instead of 7. That lowered the price significantly from $4000 to $500.
Every visit I've had has been a great experience. Had a few extractions. No pain. Staff is kind. Only downside is sometimes they have to reschedule appointments. Somewhat frustrating but it is what it is. It's worth the reschedule. Highly recommend.
As a new patient with Aspen dental I was very happy with the friendliness of the staff, the dentist and the hygienist. They did very thorough X-rays for future reference and did a great job cleaning my teeth. This will be my new go to place for dental care. I really like that they have full services with implant care and oral surgeons all in one place.
