Doctors Bladder, Ricks and Bishop are wonderful. Skylar, the hygienist, is wonderfully thorough and very personable. We've been with this practice for more than 12 years and are very satisfied with the service!

I had a mixed experience with Aurora Family Dentistry. The dentists, hygienists, and clinical staff were professional, thorough, and took good care of me. My issue is entirely with the front office and billing process. At my first appointment, the office couldn’t verify my dental insurance because they were using the wrong insurance portal. I ended up spending a significant portion of my appointment on the phone with United Concordia, walking the office staff through how to verify my coverage. Because of the delay, they only had time to complete the exam, and I had to schedule a second appointment for my cleaning. Later, I received another call saying my referral only covered a limited exam, but they had scheduled and performed a comprehensive exam instead. I provided my referral before the appointment and again when I checked in. If the referral didn’t authorize the services they planned to perform, that should have been identified before my appointment, not after the services were completed. Now I’m being told I may be responsible for charges if the referral isn’t updated, even though this was something the office could have addressed beforehand. To make matters more frustrating, I contacted United Concordia and learned they hadn’t even submitted the claim yet, despite telling me there could be issues with coverage. When I asked to speak with an office manager to resolve my concerns, I was told they don’t have one. The clinical care was excellent, which is why I’m not giving one star. However, the front office’s handling of insurance, referrals, and billing created unnecessary stress and multiple extra phone calls. I hope they improve their administrative processes because the providers themselves deserve a much better support team.

I love their philosophy of discussing your dentistry in your terms. If you are scared or finances are tight or like me, I don’t want to be talked to about flossing they honor your wishes. I have already told my children and several friends about this office.

I would like to thank Dr. Blatter and Skyler, my hygienist, for the excellent care I received today. I appreciate their professionalism and guidance for maintaining my teeth and gums. I have been a patient at AFD for two years and would definitely recommend this practice if you are in need of dental care.

Dr Ricks is the best!! I've had quite a bit of work done the past few weeks and I've never felt better about my smile. I was supposed to do some work a few years ago and didn't- a few years later it's more work and more expensive but Dr. Ricks did an amazing job and saved teeth i wasn't sure they would be able to. Almost zero pain and the ladies in the office are amazing too! If you have bad dental anxiety like me after years of terrible and painful dental experiences, this is the office for you. Don't put it off! They are amazing!

My 1st visit was an emergency due to extreme tooth pain. They took me right in, did a root canal same day. I came back 2 weeks later to complete the work and get a crown. Dr. Ricks and Laura are amazing. Very friendly. Informative and provided excellent care. The whole center has positive energy and a friendly atmosphere. So glad I went there! Thank you!
