About Aurora Modern Dentistry

The Gardens on Havana is where much of east Aurora goes for a big-box run, and Aurora Modern Dentistry sits inside it: Suite 106 at 10650 East Garden Drive, off the southeast corner of Havana Street and Mississippi Avenue, with the Target superstore as the landmark most people navigate by. It is a Smile Generation office, which in practice means specialists rotate through a general practice instead of sending you across town for them. An oral surgeon, a periodontist and an endodontist work alongside the general dentists. Imaging and charting are both digital.

Implant work is the deepest capability here, and the periodontal side of it carries equal weight, sensibly, because an implant is held by bone rather than by gum. Anything that has been dissolving that bone has to be brought under control first. Periodontal therapy starts with cleaning below the gumline where a toothbrush cannot reach, and in advanced cases moves to surgical access so root surfaces can be cleaned directly. Once the site is stable the titanium post is placed and left to fuse with bone for several months before a crown goes on top of it. Where the ridge is too narrow, or the sinus floor hangs too low in the upper back jaw, grafting rebuilds enough volume to hold a post. Grafting adds months to the schedule, and it is the most common reason two people quoted for what sounds like the same implant end up paying very different amounts. When a failing tooth still has to come out, having the surgeon in-house means extraction and implant planning are decided together.

Everyday dentistry runs in parallel: cleanings and exams, root canals, wisdom tooth removal, same-day crowns milled and fitted in one visit instead of two, and in-office whitening. Most PPO and HMO dental plans are accepted, which takes some guesswork out of cost before you sit down. The hours are unusually accommodating for this stretch of Aurora, with 7pm finishes on Tuesday and Wednesday and Saturday mornings running until 2pm, so an appointment need not cost you half a working day. One practical note: the shared retail parking lot fills up on weekend afternoons, and a morning slot is the calmer arrival.

Implants, bone grafting and periodontal treatment are the deepest capabilities, backed by same-day crowns, root canals, wisdom tooth removal, whitening and digital imaging. Most PPO and HMO dental plans are accepted. Evening hours run to 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Saturday mornings until 2pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly is the office, and what is parking like?
Suite 106 at 10650 East Garden Drive, inside the Gardens on Havana retail center at the southeast corner of Havana Street and Mississippi Avenue, in Aurora's Village East area. Most people navigate to the Target superstore and work back from there. Because the office shares a lot with a busy shopping center, parking is plentiful but crowded on weekend afternoons, so a morning appointment usually makes for an easier arrival.
Do I need gum treatment before I can have an implant?
Often, yes. Implants are anchored by bone, and periodontal disease destroys bone. Placing a post into an actively infected site risks the same process attacking the implant later. Treatment usually begins with cleaning below the gumline, and in more advanced cases surgical access so root surfaces can be cleaned directly. Once the tissue is stable and bone loss has stopped, implant planning can go ahead. Pocket depths and X-rays are what decide the sequence.
Can I be seen outside normal working hours?
To a reasonable extent. The office runs until 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, 6pm on Monday, 5pm on Thursday and 4pm on Friday, and opens Saturday mornings until 2pm. That covers people who cannot leave work midday, although longer surgical appointments are generally scheduled earlier in the day. Saturday slots tend to fill first, so phone ahead rather than assuming weekend availability in the same week.

I don't really understand how I was quoted $50 for a cleaning WITH my insurance upon check in, then told it was going to be $240 at checkout. I asked to do a payment plan, and was told they could try signing me up for a care credit card instead, which was not what I asked or wanted. This is not the first time this office has quoted me one number before the services, then came back with something significantly more when I checked out. I think because it's a "modern" clinic with very high tech equipment, they need to make their money back somehow. After reading other reviews on here, I see I'm not the only one that either misunderstood the billing or was told something that was completely incorrect. The dentists and hygienists were nice, but the communication in regards to billing is enough to make me find another office. I will not be coming back.

There front office is terrible, I was hung up on and then placed on hold for an excessive amount of time. Tells me as a potential patient that they do not value my time, major red flag!!

I can't say enough great things about this dental office! The entire team is incredibly friendly, sympathetic, and understanding. They always take the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and make you feel comfortable during every visit. Dr. Kaz is absolutely fantastic. She is professional, patient, and truly cares about her patients. She takes the time to answer questions and makes every visit a positive experience. In fact, I drive over 30 minutes to get to this office, that's how amazing they are! If you're looking for a dental office that truly cares about its patients, I highly recommend Dr. Kaz and her entire team!

I had been struggling with ongoing issues with my dental implants for over a year and a half, including them repeatedly coming loose and nearly falling out. Throughout that process, I often felt frustrated and, at times, overlooked. My experience changed when I saw Dr. Kaz at Aurora Modern Dentistry. Even though she was not the original doctor who performed my implant work, she treated me with genuine care, attention, and professionalism. From the moment I sat in her chair, she made me feel comfortable, secure, and like I was her top priority for the day. Dr. Kaz took the time to listen to my concerns and made me feel heard, which was a huge relief after everything I had been through. Her approach was not only knowledgeable but also compassionate, and that made a lasting impression on me. If you are looking for a dentist who is kind, reliable, and honest, I highly recommend Dr. Kaz and the team at Aurora Modern Dentistry. The entire staff is welcoming and supportive, and they truly care about their patients.

I had an outstanding experience at Aurora Modern Dentistry. I needed old crowns replaced along with an extraction and implant. Dr. Kaz and her all‑female team delivered exceptional care from start to finish. Dr. Kaz personally guided me through every step of the process, checked in often, and made sure I was completely happy with the results. The quality of the work and the level of attention I received were truly impressive. Highly recommend.

I would recommend Dr. Justin Evanson to anyone needing a dental surgeon. I had to have a tooth extracted, bone replacement graft, and dissolvable stiches. The procedure went smooth and any questions I had were answered. I had a little discomfort right after the numbing wore off but that is expected and easily controlled with Ibuprofen. The whole experience was wonderful! I see Dr. Kaz Talebpour and she is a wonderful dentist. I have had a couple crowns done and deep cleaning to get my teeth healthy. She is always willing to answer any questions and is kind and compassionate. I really like how the office has same day crowns so you don't have to deal with temporary crowns. The front office staff is always friendly and a shout out to Jackie who was awesome when I called in to ask questions and get an appointment confirmed.

Like many people, going to the dentist can be a bit intimidating. Even though I hadn’t been able to go for two years due to personal reasons, I knew it was time to make an appointment. I’ve been with this office for over 10 years, but some past visits and staff changes made me question whether I should return or try somewhere new. I’m so glad I decided to continue with this office. My new dentist, Dr. Monica, was amazing. She took the time to really focus on my needs, and my experience with her was the best I’ve ever had. She explained everything thoroughly and never felt pushy about services. Her assistant, Nelly, was also very professional, kind, and attentive. Cassie, my hygienist, was great as well quick and very efficient. I’m really glad I chose to stay, and I now have a fantastic team that I look forward to seeing in the future.
