About Aurora Sonrisa Dental
A short block off Broadway on Aurora's east side, Root Street places this office inside one of the city's denser residential districts rather than out on a commercial strip. That geography does real work for patients without a car, since Pace routes cover the Broadway and New York Street corridors and the Aurora Transportation Center is within walking distance. Weekday hours run from 10 in the morning to 6 in the evening, with Saturday mornings until 1, a pattern clearly built around people whose work makes a 9 a.m. appointment impossible. Street parking on the block is limited, so allow a few extra minutes if you are driving in from Montgomery or the far east subdivisions.
Dr. Manisha Desai leads a practice that works in Spanish as well as English. On this side of the city that is not a courtesy detail: Spanish is the language of the kitchen table in a great many of the households within walking distance of the door. It counts most in the parts of an appointment where a misunderstanding is expensive, such as medical history, consent, what a treatment plan will actually cost, and the instructions you follow for three days after an extraction. The clinical range covers exams and cleanings, fillings, periodontal treatment, extractions, cosmetic work and whitening, implants and full-mouth restoration, and emergency visits.
Emergencies are worth being specific about, because the right first move differs by problem. A swollen face from an abscessed tooth is the one that needs attention the same day: the infection has left the tooth and is spreading through soft tissue, and antibiotics on their own buy about a week before it returns. The source has to be opened and drained, either through the tooth in root canal treatment or by removing it. A cusp that has snapped off a back tooth is uncomfortable rather than dangerous, and often needs no more than a bonded repair or a crown once the sharp edge is smoothed. Pain that spikes with cold and settles within seconds usually means a sensitive or cracked tooth; pain that throbs when you lie flat and keeps you awake has generally reached the nerve.
What an emergency appointment does is settle the pain and stabilise the tooth. The definitive restoration nearly always comes at a second visit, once swelling has gone down and the tissue is calm enough to work on properly, so plan around two appointments rather than one.
A neighborhood general practice at 5 North Root Street on Aurora's east side, led by Dr. Manisha Desai and working in Spanish as well as English. Care covers exams and cleanings, fillings, periodontal treatment, extractions, cosmetic work and whitening, implants and full-mouth restoration, plus emergency visits and repairs. Weekday hours run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with Saturday mornings until 1, and the location is walkable from the Broadway corridor and served by Pace routes.

Very good service
Wont be returning again. To start off, they tell you the cleaning is $85 but NEVER mention that the 85 is ONLY for the xrays and the dentists consultation, not the full cleaning, which then you have to pay an extra hundreds for the actual procedure. Then, they have assistants come in and make you scan a QR code, basically watching over your shoulder to make sure you leave 5 stars, which explains the rating. And finally, they make you wait the longest. Had an appointment at 3, wasn't called til 30 minutes after my appointment, and to top it off, even after i was in the chair, they didn't assist us til another 30 minutes. Basically an hour wait. Not worth it.
They are very kind and patient with children
This is the best dentist I’ve been too. I’ve gotten a root canal done here and some fills 10/10 experience no pain. Everyone is so kind thank you so much to dr. Manisha she is the best!
Terrible attention to patient. My mom went to have her two wisdom teeth removed and the moment we got in the car she broke down crying because of the pain. Mind you, she told the doctor to boost up the anesthesia because it takes a while to take action for her and the doctor didn’t even do it, she just did it for the second tooth. Not to mention she also came back with a busted lower lip because the doctor poked her with the needle. Honestly, get better doctors who will actually listen to their patients so they don’t bring them pain. Was lowk gonna sue this place but my mom stopped me from doing so. Get better doctors whose hands won’t shake and poke a patients lip. And it wasn’t a small poke, it was a big one, and I know because her lip was all red and it looked like it was going to burst open. Never coming back. If I could, I would give ts 0 stars, unfortunately, there’s no option for that.
We love this place. Everyone is so nice here. My wife won’t go anywhere else and she’s very Picky!! We recommend this place I would give more than five stars if I could ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My children and I have been going to this dentist office and we’ve had a great experience every time. They provide excellent care and customer service. The staff is always friendly and professional, and they take the time to address any issues or concerns I have. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great dentist!
First off, it did take a while for my appointment to actually happen. But it was definitely worth the wait, and worth my time. The ladies were super nice and friendly to me, and did their job fast. They knew what they were doing, and they knew their jobs! Love it, five stars in my opinion.
