About Austin Orthodontic Arts
Austin Orthodontic Arts is a three-orthodontist specialty practice on Balcones Drive in north-central Austin, led by Dr. Nick Salome, Dr. Kaveh Naj, and Dr. David Hime — each holding the DDS, MS credentials that signal post-dental-school orthodontic specialty training. The practice focuses exclusively on orthodontic treatment, which means the conversation about aligners or braces happens with someone who does that work all day rather than as one of many services. Treatment plans cover children, teens, and adults, with the right approach matched to each patient's specific bite, alignment, and timeline.
For straightening options, the practice offers clear aligner therapy for adults and teens who prefer a less-visible approach, alongside traditional metal braces for cases where the bite is more complex or the patient prefers the predictability of fixed brackets. Clear braces — ceramic versions of traditional braces — are the middle-ground option for patients who want fixed orthodontics without the metal look. Treatment intervals, the cost of each option, and the projected end result are walked through before any brackets or aligners are committed to, so the comparison between approaches happens with full information.
If you want orthodontic treatment from a practice where every dentist on staff is an orthodontist, not a general dentist offering aligners as a sideline, this is that kind of practice.
The practice uses digital scans for treatment planning, which removes the impression-putty step many patients dislike, and the conversation about timeline tends to be specific rather than vague — based on three orthodontists' aggregate experience reading bite patterns and growth curves. Searches that bring patients here include orthodontist Austin near Balcones, clear aligners and braces for teens, adult orthodontic treatment in 78731, pediatric orthodontics for kids in north Austin, and orthodontic specialty practice with multiple specialists. The clinic suits patients who specifically want an orthodontist rather than a general dentist for their straightening work, and who appreciate having three specialists on the team for second opinions on harder cases.
A north Austin orthodontic specialty practice on Balcones Drive with Drs. Salome, Naj, and Hime — offering clear aligners, metal braces, clear braces, and treatment for kids, teens, and adults.

I just wrapped up my adult ortho treatment with Dr. Naj and had a great experience from start to finish! Every single staff member was so kind and helpful, Dr. Naj was always attentive and happy to answer my (many) questions, the billing team was prepared and transparent, and my teeth have never looked better. You can tell how much everyone takes pride in their work, I couldn’t recommend this practice enough!
We have been delighted by all of the care providers at AOA. Everyone has been friendly, thorough, patient-centered, and respectful throughout the experience. Highly recommend!
Maggie and AOA made the process to get started with orthro treatment very easy! Y’all are great!
We love Austin orthodontic arts. Both my son's and myself have had braces with them. The process was easy and our teeth look perfect! Thanks!!!!
They helped get my 🦷 absolutely straight and amazingly, correct! ✅
We have had different family members coming here for nearly 10 years. The doctors and the staff are all wonderful and they do a great job of explaining the necessary treatment to the parents and the kid so they can understand what is needed and the expected results. Braces are often more than a cosmetic "fix" and their experience with all different ages and cases really helped everyone understand that. The initial evaluation is free and so are monitoring appointments as they wait to start treatment when it's most effective. Each of my children had a short phase of treatment when they were about 8/9 and then a longer phase about middle school age. The monitoring check-ins in between were also no charge as we waited until the baby teeth were all lost and more adult teeth were in. There's a reward program for kids that also makes it easier for them to keep up with treatment and requirements. Both my kids were really motivated by getting the orthodontist "dr-bucks" and saving them for rewards. My older child has been done with treatment for a few years now and their beautiful smile still looks great. When starting treatment with my younger child, the staff all asked after them and it was clear they remembered them as they mentioned specific passions. As a kid, I had years of treatment with several different orthodontists as we moved around the country. It was no surprise my kids inherited the same issues. We had complimentary evaluations at three practices and AOA was head and shoulders above the rest. A new doctor joined the practice since we started and it has been seamless as he fit the culture well. I am sure Dr Naj will continue the great work at AOA.
I walked in this place this morning, and felt so peaceful. Also just a loving environment with great energy. Shout out to Fran, and Adrian they make this experience awesome, and always put a smile on my face. Shout out Bonnie Payton she did my braces
I went here in high school for my braces and retainers, and years later, they welcomed me in like it was yesterday. Very kind understanding front desk people that help with apts. and scheduling. Great staff, I forgot her name, I think it was Bonnie, did my teeth and set me up for new retainers since I lost my old ones. Very fun, interesting, conversations and experience. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you for your time!
My experience here was amazing! From the evaluation process to the education to the regular checks, everyone was very thorough and wonderful. The staff helped me understand how my teeth could be improved not just cosmetically, but also structurally. They were also really kind and friendly at every visit. I also got a sketchbook when I got my braces off!!! I am really happy with the results that I got in a relatively short time. I will definitely recommend to friends! :)
All three of our children have been patients at AOA. We continue to choose them for their friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled Drs. and staff. They put a lot of thought into making orthodontic visits as pleasant as possible (even fun at times!) and have been very generous with their time, providing multiple consultations over the years in between treatments. AOA gives back to the local community, which I appreciate. We found their prices higher than nearby offices, but when we considered all factors, they were the clear winner for us. (Plus, who doesn’t love a tooth garden and a great Halloween display???
