Endodontic specialty practice in southwest Austin
Smyleee Rating
Very Good
Austin Root Canal Specialists is an endodontic specialty practice on Davis Lane in southwest Austin led by Dr. Pedram Khosravian, with additional office locations in Round Rock, San Marcos, and New Braunfels. The practice focuses exclusively on root canal therapy and the related microsurgical work that endodontists are specifically trained for — rather than offering it as one service among many at a general dental practice. Patients are most commonly referred in by their general dentist when a tooth needs more specialized intervention than a typical drill-and-fill workflow allows.
For endodontic care, the practice offers root canal therapy as the primary treatment — saving a tooth that would otherwise need extraction by removing the infected pulp and sealing the canal. Endodontic retreatment is available for patients whose previous root canal needs to be redone, whether due to recurring infection or new structural concerns. Apical surgery (apicoectomy) is performed when the standard root canal approach is not enough and the tip of the root needs surgical attention. Trauma treatment covers teeth that have been knocked out, fractured, or otherwise damaged in an accident, and emergency visits are kept open for patients in severe tooth pain.
If you have been told you need a root canal and want it done by a specialist with surgical-microscope precision rather than a general dentist, this is that kind of practice.
The clinic uses a dental surgical microscope and a CBCT 3D X-ray machine, both of which are standard tools at endodontic specialty practices but rare in general dental offices. The microscope improves visibility into the small canals being treated, while the CBCT scan reveals root anatomy and infection patterns that 2D X-rays often miss. Searches that bring patients here include endodontist near Davis Lane Austin, root canal specialist in 78749, root canal retreatment in southwest Austin, apicoectomy and microsurgical endodontics, and emergency root canal for severe tooth pain. The clinic serves patients across southwest Austin, Round Rock, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, and Oak Hill from its multiple office locations.

They don't answer the phone and didn't return my voicemail
I’m really disappointed with my experience at Austin Root Canal Specialists. When I booked the appointment, I was told they were in-network with my insurance. However, after the visit, I found out that was not true and was charged nearly $200 for an appointment that lasted less than 10 minutes. I value honesty and transparency, especially when it comes to medical costs, and this experience felt misleading. I would strongly recommend confirming insurance details in writing before scheduling — I certainly wish I had.
Friendly service. Very informative and a willingness to help and answer any questions you may have. The doctor explained everything clearly and understandable
I can't wait to go back!
Great experience with Dr Pedram Khosavian. He expertly explained what’s going on and what he was going to do, including possible complications. Procedure went smoothly and I had hardly any pain the same evening. Highly recommend this office.
Dr PK and his staff are the best in Austin. I had a root canal procedure recently and it was painless and recovery went well! Dr. PK guided with every step and made sure I was comfortable. He and his team truly care about you. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Pk was wonderful! I was so nervous and not looking forward to a root canal AT ALL! He went over the procedure carefully explaining everything and calming my anxiety about it. The whole thing was actually quick and painless, I was finished before I knew it. The office was able to get me in super quick, the same week I called and everyone there was very polite and helpful. So thankful to have had my procedure done there. 10/10 would recommend!
So first of all I think most people shudder, cringe or even have a mild panic attack with the thought of having to have a root canal. Well, I think I did all three when I was told by my regular dentist I had to have one and being my first time I was not looking forward to it. I was referred to Austin Root Canal Specialists through the VA. Not knowing what kind of service I was going to receive I was prepared for the worst. But that is not what happened. I walked in to their office on Davis Ln. and was greeted warmly. The office is in great condition and well kept. They walked me back to the exam room and the dental assistant who's name escapes me was kind and extremely attentive. I felt calm and relaxed as she prepped me for the procedure. Then she introduced me to Dr. Khosravian. Considering this is a dental office I will say chair-side manner, and it was impeccable. He is extremely kind and took the time to explain everything. Sometimes at the dentist I feel like a number being rushed through but in this case not only did he take the time to explain the process and each and every possible outcome but during the procedure he continued to walk me through everything he was doing. The time and compassion everyone showed at the office was amazing. They really took the stress and anxiety out of the equation. Highly recommend!
