Barnbrook Dental Practice

Changed my review on this dental practice from negative to positive. My original bone of contention was around their COVID policy. I still find the policy extreme, but understand the reasoning behind this. Following my recent visit to the surgery I found all the staff to be incredibly welcoming and couldn't have done enough for me as I waited for my appointment with two very young children! Mr Powell's is incredibly meticulous and explains what he is doing and why throughout my appointments, providing guidance and advice for oral care away from the practice.

As a family we joined this practice recently and have nothing but good things to report. When you see a dentist you want them to be caring and put you at ease, Dr Powell is fantastic for this. Additionally, the practice as a whole is well run and friendly. I would also say that they are trustworthy, they do not try to add on extra fees etc. We joined denplan which is a bonus after being dropped by the previous NHS practice (no longer taking NHS), denplan has enabled us to continue with our treatment, within budget. Highly recommend this dentist.

claimed they sent a text message to my dad appointment was at 11:40 despite not receiving a text apon arriving they told me it was 3:40 receptionist was disgusting and rude towards my father and incredibly sarcastic as well and this isn't the 1st time either

No one likes going to the dentist, but this dental practice makes everything as smooth as they can, the staff give off positive vibes and talk to each other with utmost respect, they treated me the same way. Its a long trip being in Torbay, but we'll worth it, A fantastic team that is centered around putting their patients first, 5 stars 🌟

Highly professional people working in this dental practice. Everyone was so nice and accommodating to me and my toddler when she came for her first check up. I also got a dental crown refitted; Dr Andrew Powell with his colleagues did a very good and efficient job. Thank you!

Waited 20 mins in reception for appt for a filling. When called up by dentist was told he did not have enough time to do the job properly and to book another appt with reception. Was very frightened and upset to learn that he had forgotten he would have to drill out a silver filling and had not allowed time for a guard to be fitted. Having cleared the diary for this appointment, I was not thrilled to go home without the work being done and I was disappointed that the first available appt to have the filling would not be for another 3 weeks. Although I was offered an apology, I believe Barnbrook could have done more to compensate for my distress and the inconvenience. The whole experience makes me question their expertise.
