Bascom Family Dental - Karan Mody, DDS

I recently switched to Dr. Chan after seeing the same dentist for more than 30 years (he passed away over the summer), and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Dr. Chan was warm, friendly, and incredibly efficient. The office is beautiful, and every member of the staff is welcoming and helpful. If you’re searching for a new dentist, I highly recommend giving Dr. Chan a try.

Dr. Chan and Dr. Mody have created an amazing dental practice. The office is beautiful, modern, and spacious, which makes the whole experience even more comfortable from the moment you walk in. Both doctors are thorough and professional, and they take the time to explain everything clearly and put you at ease. The staff is equally welcoming and attentive. I couldn’t be happier with my experience here and would recommend this office to anyone looking for excellent dental care.

Dr. Chan is very thorough in her examination. She has a gentle and reassuring approach, and her advice is precise and well-considered! I felt completely comfortable and in good hands with her during all of my visits. The hygienists are also very efficient, and the reception staff are equally precise with appointment notes and adjustments. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my dental procedures.

Back at Dr. Mooy‘s after a four year hiatus (we had moved to Antioch), but I had an appointment scheduled with him before we had even been back in San Jose a week. It should be mentioned that I am clinically phobic, resulting in decades of avoiding the dentist except for emergencies. At my dentist in Antioch, I had to have nitrous for every appointment, and that includes a simple cleaning. My appointment at Bascom Family Dental yesterday was so gentle and kind that I barely even needed my “emotional support teenager“ that I brought with me :-) I still have a good deal of work to be done, but I’m so glad that doctor Mody is still around so that this scaredy-cat has a place to go to keep her teeth healthy.

I havent found a dental office like this since my childhood dentist in the UK. Its been hard to find one here in CA who I truly feel like I can trust to do only what is necessary for the overall health of my mouth. I've been to another place in the past where I went in with no pain or complaints and suddenly "needed" multiple fillings in the same day after never having any cavities in my life prior, or was being pushed to rush into other expensive treatments, even sometimes feeling like I was rushed in and out as fast as possible- ended up with one filling that felt like it was kind of a rush job and not quite sitting right. But NOT at Bascom Family Dental- even though I arrived toward the end of day, there were no rushed treatments, doctor took a lot of time to talk and understand my concerns with my teeth/jaw/bite and offer recommendations/referrals for the right help, and my exam/cleaning was very thorough. She is incredibly kind and friendly and really listens to your concerns, and the staff were all very nice and transparent about insurance and billing. Really glad to have found this place! Thanks
