About Beaches Periodontics, Laser and Implant Dentistry

Beaches Periodontics, Laser and Implant Dentistry provides dental care on 13th Avenue South in the Beaches area of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. I finished my appointment today…and was treated so well during it… Carmen is the extraordinary professional…who expertly cleaned my teeth…like Dr. Fields…she is the model of professionalism and attention to detail…however…this is true of all the staff members…including the receptionist, who makes you feel welcome and comfortable… I can’t find the words to adequately express my gratitude and respect for this team… I just returned from another visit to this practice…all of the staff are so impressive… Doctor Fields is a consummate professional… and Carmen, my dental hygienist, is faultless…I cannot imagine any patient who would not agree… The entire operation is a model of periodontal care at the highest level… I went recently to this office for my biannual checkup and cleaning… I met with Doctor Fields..who always impresses me with his skill and knowledge… I also was met by three remarkable members of his staff…including my dental hygienist…. Carmen…all of them treated me with such kindness… I spoke to another patient, who said she was so lucky to have found this team to care for her! I have been going to this dental practice for over a decade…Dr. Fields is personable, skilled, and extremely professional… every person on his staff has these same traits… my dental hygienist, Carmen, is extraordinary… I feel so fortunate to have located this periodontal team!

I was at the office for consultations about my loose teeth and gum issues. I got an exam and was given honest and clear opinions on needed treatments. His explanations were logical and easy to understand. I was given a treatment plan with options and reasonable prices. I have not seen Dr. Field for many years and I made the right decision seeing him again. Thanks Dr. Field.
