About Bend Family Dentistry - Third Street
Based on Northeast 3rd Street in the Orchard District area of Bend, Oregon, Bend Family Dentistry - Third Street is a dental practice serving the area. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.
Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.
Cosmetic dentistry covers treatment aimed primarily at appearance — whitening, veneers, bonding, and reshaping among the more common options — for patients who are less concerned with a problem that hurts than with how their smile looks day to day. The right combination depends on what specifically you would like to change.
Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.
Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.
Sedation dentistry uses inhaled, oral, or intravenous options to help patients relax through treatment, ranging from nitrous oxide for mild anxiety through to deeper sedation for longer or more involved procedures. It is commonly used for patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear. Tim!! Fabulous!
I’ve been going to Bend Family Dentistry for years and truly can’t recommend them enough. Nikki at the front desk is always so warm and welcoming, Barbara is such a gentle and happy hygienist who makes every visit comfortable, and Marci is incredibly kind and helpful with payments. The whole team is consistently friendly, caring, and makes you feel right at home!
I had such a wonderful experience at Bend Family Dentistry ! 🦷 Every single person I interacted with was so kind and welcoming. The front desk staff made check-in quick and easy, the support staff was attentive, and the dentist was thoroughly professional and efficient. It is rare to find a clinic where the entire team radiates such positive energy. Thank you all for a great visit!
I love this office! I had to stop going here due to a change in insurance, which I was bummed about. I was going to a different dentist (won't say where) and the experience was not pleasant compared to Bend Family. They are all so kind and inviting and my cleaning was so easy, even on my neglected teeth. I highly recommend this office for your dental needs.
A wildly great experience. Would recommend 10/10. Nikki at the front desk was very personable, Kim who seemed to be the radiologist was great, Tim the hygienist was kind and I felt did a wonderful job, Dr. Theda was very upbeat and she was also very kind. I’m looking forward to being “a lifer” at Bend Family Dentistry. All in all the team comes highly recommended by me!
I am very happy with Bend Family Dentistry! I was visiting from out of town when I developed tooth pain and they got me in to see Dr. Builder the same day for help. Friendly and caring!
I’m relieved and happy to announce that Bend Family Dentistry (3rd Street) is my new dental provider. My first appointment was quite remarkable. The office is spacious, with an attractive waiting area, and I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, who called me by name as I arrived 10 minutes early. Within five minutes, I was escorted to the X-ray room, which features a spectacular mountain view. Ellie was efficient, friendly, and professional while taking my X-rays, and we enjoyed a pleasant conversation before I was handed off to my dental hygienist, Morgan. Morgan confidently performed a thorough cleaning, briefly pausing so I could meet my dentist, Dr. Haley (Van Volkenburg). Dr. Haley completed the exam and clearly explained her recommendations: a crown for a broken molar and replacement of a decades-old filling. Morgan then finished the cleaning and invited me to inspect her work in the mirror—clearly proud of the results, which I appreciated. Morgan escorted me to checkout, where I met Christina from billing and scheduling. Christina provided a clear, printed estimate outlining both the charges and insurance coverage for the recommended work. I didn’t hesitate and asked to proceed with scheduling. She was able to schedule me with Dr. Haley the following week—impressive. This office functions efficiently, with a staff that works seamlessly as a team. Each person clearly knows their role and performs it with professionalism.
I came here after dealing with a different dentist for a couple years. These folks are very nice and polite. They seem to actually care. They listened well to my concerns and answered my questions completely. As with any health care it isn't cheap. The primary issue in my case is that my insurance doesn't cover a couple of essential things I need addressed. This issue isn't on the dentist. I highly recommend them. I will update after my first treatment. Update - been going here for about a year now. Haven't had a single negative experience. I would recommend them highly.
