About Beverly Hills Orthodontics Downtown LA
Beverly Hills Orthodontics Downtown LA is a dental practice on South Olive Street in the Downtown Los Angeles area of Los Angeles, California. Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. Lack of transparency in pricing. Was not clearly informed upfront that the retainer was not included in the quoted "flat rate" price. When I called them asking for my x-ray, the same representative Irene said it will be a 150 fee although it is against the federal law to charge patients for their own medical data. After multiple attempts of calling the office, they finally "gave in" after I said I will be writing my honest experience at this office. Called me saying they will "waive my fee" for this time, but required that I "agree to not disclose any negative reviews about them". This clinic has performed lack of transparency, disregard of federal law, and personal right of speech. The representative Leah used an inappropriate grocery store analogy with me when this is a medical facility to explain their reason of charging a fee for the X-ray. Although the situation was solved for me, they 1. did not address the initial lack of transparency 2. did not resolve the issue with bypassing federal law 3. tried to shush me by waiving me a one-time illegal fee. Complete waste of time and energy and I see that multiple users have experienced similar circumstances. Would not recommend. Lastly, to all the customers out there: purchase transparency is a customer's right, so is gaining access to personal x-rays and medical data, needless to say disclosing honest experiences at a facility. Hope everyone has a smooth and peaceful dental journey :)
They are awesome!!
I recommend BHO if you want premier Invisalign treatment along with a strong connection with the people that help treat you. I’ve been with BHO for around two and a half years now, and the amount of progress I’ve made in my bite is astounding. I wish I could attach photos, but I started off with a bite that looked like if you combined the worst parts of a crossbite and underbite, and then doubled the severity. However, now I’m nearly done, and find that I when I smile and look in the mirror, I am genuinely happy at what I see. Dr. Madan is a great orthodontist without doubt, but also I believe equally as good in quality of character. The relationship between client and provider in any sort of medical service is paramount, and whenever I’ve brought up my concerns to her she’s answered wholeheartedly. Once again, if you have any orthodontic issues - crooked teeth, gaps, or most importantly with your bite, then BHO won’t let you down.
Dr. Monica is always sweet, professional, and helpful. I enjoy every visit.
**Update ** As you can see in the photo, they offered to issue a refund in exchange for removing my honest review from Google (a review that simply stated the facts of what happened). It has now been taken down, but I also saw that others had written about the same thing in the past. This is illegal and also a violation of Google’s policies. Reviews for this practice should not be trusted. I went to this orthodontic clinic last year for a free Invisalign consultation. After that visit, I decided to proceed with treatment, and they scheduled my first appointment about five weeks later. A week before my appointment, I was contacted and told that a “clearance form” from my general dentist had not been submitted. This was the first time I had heard of this requirement — no one had ever mentioned it during the consultation. I explained that it would be difficult to get an appointment with my dentist within such short notice. They told me that obtaining the clearance form was only recommended, not required, so I clearly informed them that I wouldn't be able to get it and would proceed without it. Then, the day before my scheduled appointment, I received a voicemail saying I wouldn't be able to receive any treatment without the clearance form. This last-minute contradiction was incredibly unprofessional and frustrating. What made it worse was that not a single person acknowledged the miscommunication or offered an apology. I was so upset that I canceled my Invisalign treatment with them. (I asked them to send me an email confirming the cancellation, but I never received one.) Unfortunately, things got even worse. In late April of this year, I discovered that the clinic had been continuously charging me monthly Invisalign fees (and a deposit in the first month) — even though I had never started treatment. I messaged the front desk on May 1, 2025, and they told me the payments had been stopped — again, no apology was offered. I was told that I would need to reach out to the financial coordinator myself to ask about a refund. I emailed Valerie, the financial coordinator, on May 2 and finally received a response on May 6. She said the matter would be reviewed. However, no refund was issued. So on June 18, I followed up again with another email — which received no reply at all as of July 7. To make things worse, I discovered that another monthly charge was made on June 17. What kind of business continues to hold and charge money from someone who never even received treatment? Despite my continued polite and clear emails, I’ve been ignored. I’ve never encountered a company with such disorganized internal management and complete lack of accountability.
Dr. Madam along with her whole team are amazing! Very patient and attentive, always welcoming and making the Invisalign journey a pleasant experience
Monica and her team are so nice and professional. The experience has always been welcoming and the office was always clean and I felt totally comfortable coming in during the pandemic. They took every precaution and were so great to work with.
