About Bird Pediatric Dentistry

Bird Pediatric Dentistry is a children’s dental practice on Riverstone Way in the Ballantyne area of south Charlotte, North Carolina. The office focuses on pediatric dentistry, caring for infants, toddlers, school-age children, and teens.

A pediatric practice provides the dental care a child needs as their teeth develop. This includes first dental visits, routine cleanings and examinations, fluoride treatment, dental sealants, and cavity treatment, along with guidance for parents on brushing, diet, and habits such as thumb-sucking. Early, regular visits help children grow up comfortable with the dentist and let the team monitor each child’s development.

The practice also sees children with dental anxiety, and the team can discuss options for keeping a nervous child comfortable during a visit.

For any treatment beyond a routine cleaning — such as fillings, or procedures like a tongue-tie release — parents are encouraged to ask the office for a clear, written explanation of exactly which teeth or issues are involved, why the treatment is recommended, and what it will cost. For more extensive treatment plans, seeking a second opinion is a reasonable and common step before proceeding, and parents should feel free to take time to make a decision.

A first visit generally begins with an examination and a discussion of the child’s dental health.

The Riverstone Way location is convenient for Ballantyne and the surrounding south Charlotte neighborhoods. You can review Bird Pediatric Dentistry’s services and contact details on this page and reach the office directly to request an appointment for your child.

My children have been patients here for 8 yrs!! Dr. Bird and her staff are Amazing. She takes the time to explain the process. Im especially grateful to her and her assistant Haley for being so patient with my daughter who suffers with "Dental Anxiety". Dr. Bird gave us options and TODAY was a SUCCESS! I will continue to take the 1 hr drive because we are always reassured.

I had such a great experience at Bird Pediatric Dentistry! Dr. Bird and her staff were absolutely amazing from start to finish. I came in to get my permanent retainer put back on, and they made the whole process so easy and comfortable. Everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure I was happy with the result. You can tell they really go above and beyond for their patients. Highly recommend Dr. Bird and her wonderful team!

Tried to do dental work on me I did not need, I've been going here for a while and always had a positive experience, but last visit they told me i had a " handful " of cavities and did not tell me what teeth and an exact number, paid out of pocket for a second opinion and surprise surprise not a single cavity, I looked at the scans myself and all my teeth have a healthy outer layer. If I would've went through with Bird's treatment plan there would be unnecessary work done on several teeth, I had a cavity filled here before and now I'm questioning if I even had one in the first place, do not take your kids here this is insane.

Horrible experience! Kids used bird since toddlers. Tried to upsell everything. Told us son needed tongue tie release, but 2 MDs couldn’t see anything. Son is fine. Tried to tell us our daughter had 5 cavities, but got a second opinion and zero. Just horrible

Bird dentistry is truly an amazing place. I cannot express the gratitude I have for Dr. Bird. She did my son tongue tie release and from start to end she was super respectful, listened to our concerns and checked in on us even after the procedure was done. She truly cares about you and your kids and it’s refreshing to see. The staff is just as friendly and welcoming. I would recommend everyone to go see Bird Dentistry you will not regret it.
