About Black Mountain Family Dentistry

Black Mountain Family Dentistry is a general-dentistry practice set up for the everyday work most patients actually need, located on South Holly Street in Denver. The clinic is built around the day-to-day work — not boutique marketing — and serves adults and kids in one familiar place. The shape of the practice fits patients who want a clear conversation about what's actually needed, with treatment staged around real priorities rather than a one-shot proposal on the first visit. If you're scoping a Denver dental option, this is a sensible practice to put on a short list of candidates and book a first visit with.

Service coverage spans the standard general-dentistry breadth: routine cleanings and exams, tooth-colored fillings, crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, basic extractions, and gum-disease management. The practice also handles in-office whitening for a cosmetic refresh when patients need them, alongside the routine preventive work. Restorations lean conservative — composite material rather than amalgam — and most needs are kept in-house, with specialty referrals reserved for cases that genuinely call for them rather than offered up front.

If you're choosing a long-term general dentist rather than a one-off appointment, this is a practice set up for ongoing patient relationships.

Cost positioning sits in the typical Denver general-dentistry range, with most major insurance plans accepted and clear pretreatment estimates before restorative work begins. Patients searching for family dentist in Denver, dentist accepting new patients in Denver, CO, or routine dental care in Denver commonly land at neighborhood practices like this one — generalists rather than narrow specialty offices. It suits families wanting consistency over many years, patients who value predictable scheduling, and anyone who'd rather have one trusted dentist see the same teeth across decades than rotate through a corporate group practice. The Denver location works for patients already running errands in this part of Denver, and parking and transit access tend to be straightforward for the surrounding blocks.

Black Mountain Family Dentistry on South Holly Street in Denver runs a general-dentistry practice covering cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, and basic emergency care for adults and kids for Denver families.

Reviews here seem to be fake. For instance - the review by Kathy Lepley is the office manager and rude receptionist. I would take what comes from the practice with a very small grain of salt. At least use different names if you’re going to make fake reviews

I was in for a deep cleaning and then a couple weeks later I had two crowns done. The ladies in this office are as nice and professional as they can be. They explain everything and make sure you understand what it means for you and your dental health. If you have to go to the dentist (and we all do :-) ) this is a great place to go. These ladies do fabulous work!!

Everyone at BMFD is so friendly! Recently had a couple fillings and the process was fast with minimal discomfort (with only topical numbing)! Strongly recommend them if you are looking for a new dentist

I was told that I had 4 cavities and was quoted $460 dollars to fix the cavities using a "laser treatment with restorative procedures". I had went to comfort dental 6 months earlier for a cleaning, where they did tell me I had a baby cavity that could easily be reversed with proper care (I floss twice a day, brush twice a day, use a waterpik and mouth wash) and felt like I took very good care of my mouth. The estimate was insane, so I went to my childhood dentist to have these "4 cavities filled". During the secondary appointment my dentist told me I did not have a single cavity in my mouth. Disappointed to be scammed by a dentist like this.

This review is long overdue! I’ve been a patient at Black Mountain Family Dentistry for 9 years. Dr. Torok is very knowledgeable and friendly. She uses the latest dental technology and is an evidence based practitioner, delivering the best care! I had my Invisalign done here too and she did such a fantastic job. The entire team is so friendly and they ensure I am comfortable. Highly recommend coming here for your treatments, you’ll feel right at home :)

I cannot recommend this dentist enough. I’ve recommended to many family members and friends who go here now as well. As someone who avoids dentist because of prior bad experiences, the fact that I’ve been consistently going here for a few years now says a lot. They are kind and thoughtful, walking you through what they are doing and why.

I had an excellent experience at this dental office. The entire team is professional, friendly, and truly cares about their patients. The dentist took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the visit. What I appreciated most was how attentive they were to my needs—they really take care of whatever you need and make sure you leave feeling confident about your dental health. The office is clean, organized, and runs efficiently, which makes appointments easy and stress-free. If you're looking for a dentist who provides outstanding service and genuinely cares about their patients, I highly recommend this practice.

Great experience! I had deep cleaning, fillings, and wisdom teeth removal, and everything went smoothly and pain-free. I’m usually nervous about dentists, but they made me feel comfortable. Highly recommend! Thank you Andrea 😊

This office is honest and trustworthy, they’ve helped me straighten my teeth with Invisalign. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a dentist that’ll actually put in the time and effort!

I was told I'd need a root canal from Dr. Torok which was odd given that I had no pain or zingers and no prior cavity 6 months prior. Switched to a different dentist at Wimmer for a 2nd opinion who was able to fill my cavity WITHOUT the unnecessary root canal proposed by Dr. Torok. Furthermore, after my visit she additionally explained my 3d scan WHILE checking out in the LOBBY (not even in the patient room) in a last minute very sales-y attempt to sell the invisalign treatment. I had not mentioned interest in this, just came for teeth cleaning. TLDR: if you are told you need a root canal you may want to consider a 2nd opinion elsewhere - as I avoided one simply going to another dentist for a 2nd opinion.
