Blodgett Dental Care

I first came to Dr. Blodgett because I had a pressing issue with an old root canal. But lucky for me, he does so much more than regular dentistry. I’d had an ever increasing list of food allergies which was becoming a problem. First, I became allergic to dairy and wheat, then beans and corn and tofu, then other grains like oatmeal, then even plain white rice, certain fruit, etc.. If I ate any of those, I became congested. If I got congested, and continued to eat any of those foods, then the congestion turned into dizziness. Once dizziness set in, it took about 3 to 4 weeks to clear. During one episode, I got so dizzy that sleeping and even walking became a problem. I had to stop driving… Fortunately, Dr. Blodgett and his team were able to help. Through the years I'd had a lot of dental work done—including root canals and gold crowns. It turns out that I was allergic to the dental materials that had been used. Plus, it also turns out that I had necrotized bone in the areas where my wisdom teeth had been pulled. My body was taxed dealing with the necrotized bone, mercury in the amalgam underneath the gold crowns (little bits of mercury were continually leaking into my system + the mercury and the gold were reacting against each other), and the material that was used to fill my root canals. Dr. Blodgett removed the necrotized bone, removed the root canals, and he also re-did the crowns (which removed the mercury). Post surgery, my allergies improved. Normally, spring and summer pollen had a strong effect on me. But this spring, surprisingly, was not an issue. It seems that my body could deal with the pollen, now that it didn’t have to fight against the mercury, etc in my mouth. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Blodgett and his team. They are knowledged, skilled, professional, and kind. Plus they understand things about health and dentistry in a way that is incredibly rare. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon them. And we are so lucky to have them right here in Portland.

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Kelly Blodgett. He did my crowns, and I now have to replace all of them. My mom also had a very negative experience with his dental work. This has been incredibly frustrating and costly, and I feel that the quality of the work we received was unacceptable. Based on our personal experiences, I would urge anyone considering extensive dental work to get a second opinion and carefully consider their options before proceeding.

From the moment I placed the phone call to get my dying tooth evaluated, Dr. Blodgett and his team were caring, kind, thoroughly competent, informed, and deeply compassionate. Dr. Blodgett and his whole team took the time to really listen to me and to allay any concerns. Because I had read about the dangers of root canals, I decided to get my tooth extracted rather than have a root canal. I followed all the many healing protocols and healing therapies provided by Dr. Blodgett and I am elated to report that my tooth was removed without pain and the recovery, so far, 2 weeks out, has been smooth and easy. I am ever grateful that God lead me to Dr. Blodgett and his dedicated team of excellent, caring, and supportive staff. I am beyond grateful for the superlative care I have received! Thank you with all my heart, Dr. Blodgett and team!

WARNING. He does procedures that don't need to be done sometimes to try to get as much income as possible rather than doing the right thing or informing the patient in all reality of everything that could take place and being honest about it. Read the other reviews for reference which detail this and other problems. The business' lengthy responses only raise the concerns. He falsely advertises on his site he has a 5 star review on Google; he does not, it's 4.7, meaning not all patients gave him five stars and there are reviews that are negative. A business or practice that has a true 5 star review has that status with no negative reviews, not one that has 4.7. I expect he will try to make an excuse or fabricate a reason in response to this review. A big red flag for any practice is charging exorbitant amounts of money for procedures; he charges up to 10 times more than other practices that are excellent practices. There is no other reason for this other than greed. The biggest red flag is that he does not accept any type of insurance. He uses the ludicrous line that they are insurance independent. That is the opposite of what a health care provider does and what health care is and it's a shame that we even have to write that. If he wants to be a boutique cash / direct pay / credit only practice that's his perogative; saying you're insurance independent is garbage propaganda. Good, honorable, honest, real dental practices work to reach everybody they can and provide care. Paying out of pocket is part of all dental care as the benefit limits are so low. Universal dental care wroughts out the rampant level of greed and ensures all have care, which is the only thing that matters; not anyone's aggrandisement.

I’ve never felt safer or more cared for! I am incredibly grateful for Blodgett Dental Care‘s dental tourism program. If you have dental anxiety or complex issues like infected root canals, you can stop looking—this is the place. It is completely worth flying for. With every call and step, my nervousness quickly faded. Dr. Kelly Blodgett and his team create a warm environment where you are treated like family, providing heartfelt, white-glove care. Their unique scheduling made me feel like I was the only patient in the building. The wellness side of the facility felt just like a spa! Originally, I planned to extract one infected root canal. Dr. Blodgett x-rayed and tested two others, discovering they were causing inflammation. Even though it wasn't planned, he made extra time to pull all three infected root canals—including a molar—with complete confidence and expertise. He is highly skilled, holistically minded, and uses incredible, mind-blowing technology! I also had two zirconia implants placed immediately, four crowns removed, and the underlying teeth cleaned up. Dr. Brimhall is a true craftsman and created temporary composites that fit so perfectly my husband couldn't even tell work was done! Best of all, no gagging, sticky, gummy trays came anywhere near my mouth thanks to their top-of-the-line digital tools. My surgery lasted a little over 6 hours, but felt like two or three because Dr. Blodgett, Katie, and Dr. Brimhall were so calming and entertaining. I didn't feel any scratching in my throat from cutting off crowns, which is a huge first for me. I remained relaxed the entire time without gas, pills, or general anesthesia—instead, they used a holistic ear-clip device that emits a calming electric pulse. The whole experience was more relaxing than a standard cleaning!Dr. Blodgett and his staff openly share their own training and experiences with zero shaming or high-pressure tactics—just pure support, guidance, and choices. I’m so happy I found this special biological dental oasis! If more facilities were modeled after this, the health industry would be a much better place. It is rare to meet a team where every single person is so valued and valuable! PS. The picture I’m sharing is the day after my surgery, yes that’s right. I’m smiling because I’m not in pain, not bruised and not very puffy. I’m writing this nearly 3 weeks out and surprisingly, never got any bruising, of course everyone’s different. But I feel this demonstrates expertise and implementation of all of the holistic modalities and guidance before during and after the surgery.

I had been to other dentist, Never a bio dentist. Dr Blodgett found an infection in my mouth that I’ve had for over 40 years when all 4 of my wisdom teeth were removed and I could not explain why all were removed to Dr Blodgett. I was following what the Dr. suggested at the time. I was diagnosed with type two diabetes two years ago. I didn’t feel good. I had no energy.. Since my surgery with Dr Blodgett removing old root canals, Cavities, dead teeth, and, the infection and Then rebuilding bone so I can have Implants. I’m feeling 100% better. I have energy. My numbers with my Diabetes have dropped drastically. My average now is somewhere around 106 my last A1c was 5.9 which the doctor was amazed. Can’t wait in 30 days to see what my next A1c is. I have retina deterioration and I see the ophthalmologist in four days for shots and I’m hoping to prolong the shots out further or stop them altogether. If it wasn’t For Dr Blodgett, I would’ve never known how severe the infection was in my mouth as I was seeing a regular dentist To get false teeth. I’ve read his book. I am now asking doctors more questions and asking what my options are. . I’ve stopped insulin (18 units a day) completely June 19.,2026. Yes, I have changed my lifestyle With exercise , food, fasting and red light and Dr. Blodgetts laser therapy. He has changed my life and daily routine for the healthier side of living. Amazing team there at Blodgett Dental Care. The whole experience has been life changing and has set me on a path of wellness that I wish I had found sooner. I would highly recommend Blodgett Dental Care to anyone. In fact I keep giving away Dr. Blodgett’s book to people that are asking for more information. Great book to read too!

I have been going to Blodgett Dental Care for over 15 years. Previous to that I hadn't gone to the dentist in quite a while due to dental anxiety. Dr. Blodgett and his team were so kind and put me at ease immediately. His dental work is incredible and the repair work I have had to have has been comfortable and long-lasting. He treats his patients with respect, has a great sense of humor and his staff are skilled, professional and kind as well. I 100% recommend Dr. Blodgett and his team.

I am deeply grateful for the incredible experience I had at BDC. From the very first contact, I want to highlight the exceptional professionalism, transparency, and human warmth of the entire team. I flew from Florida to Portland with my mother, who came from Argentina to accompany me. I underwent surgery to remove my right central incisor, previously treated with a root canal after a horseback riding accident and severely infected. It was causing issues such as chest pain next to my heart after eating, scalp pain, anxiety and severe inflammation. All of these symptoms disappeared immediately after the tooth was removed. I want to highlight the importance of Dr. Blodgett’s social media presence. I followed him for five years. His educational content, transparency, and the way he shares patient experiences and procedures gave me great trust. It was especially important that he recommended general anesthesia for my surgery, which was a major fear for me and allowed me to proceed with peace of mind. No other clinic had suggested this option. First, I would like to thank Heidi for her patience and clarity in answering all my emails and questions, which were many, and for helping me resolve every doubt. Changing direction when a safe path already exists requires extraordinary faith. It is a decision that involves uncertainty, sacrifice, and the possibility of being misunderstood. However, he chose to follow what he felt was true for his soul. As a patient, I cannot help but think about how many people have been positively impacted because of that decision. If he had ignored that calling, perhaps he would never have gone on to help so many people in the way he does today. That is why I feel his work is much more than a profession. It is the expression of a vocation lived with purpose. And I believe that when someone works from that place, it can be felt. It is perceived in the excellence, in the dedication, and in the profound care with which he treats every human being who comes to his practice. I can only say thank you. I created a google account just so I could leave this review. I met Dr Blodgett at his Toxic Tooth Tour stop in Boston several years ago. After throwing every question I could think of at him in the seminar, I decided to travel cross country a half dozen times over 2 years doing a three phase full mouth reconstruction. Had 14 implants/ crowns placed even more root canals removed. Double sinus lift and veneers on the bottom front 8 remaining real teeth to strengthen and preserve them. Many of the root canals that were removed were found to have abscesses I was unaware of and all that infection was cleaned out via ozone therapy. My root canals were tested for microbes and pathogens that helped me identify a chronic Lyme condition I have been battling symptoms from since 2012. Dr. Blodgett even helped fix a botched tooth filling that my wife was struggling with pain from and saved her tooth from root canal or extraction! Bottom line is that the entire team there is top notch A+! They treated us both like family and we are very blessed to have been able to find them and embark on this journey to health with such an amazing group of people. Dr. Blodgett is at the very top of his craft and the work he did on my smile not just cosmetically but functionally is nothing short of incredible. There are no words to express how greatful I am to Doctor Blodgett, His tech Katie and the rest of his team. Dr. Blodgett and his team are the most caring, knowledgeable, funny, professional, and really go out of there was to make you feel comfortable. Thank you I was getting sick. I am not longer groggy in the morning. Feel 100% better heathwise. And most of all my smile my smile is back. And I have alot more Confidence in myself. This has been life changing for me. Dr B has so much knowledge and skill, while also being humble and kind… hard to find that combination! His team is attentive, welcoming and knows what they are doing!
