Dermatology is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails — including skin cancer screening and treatment (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma), chronic skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne), skin infections, allergic reactions, and cosmetic dermatology procedures such as mole removal, Botox, fillers, and laser treatments. The "Bluegrass" prefix is a distinctively Kentucky regional branding choice, referencing the Bluegrass Region in which Lexington is situated — named for the blue-tinged grass (Poa pratensis) that distinguishes the Lexington and Frankfort areas' geology and which gives Kentucky's heartland its distinctive landscape and Thoroughbred horse farming heritage.

The Unit 200 designation indicates a multi-suite professional building appropriate for a medical specialty practice. I had an excellent experience with Bluegrass Dermatology, especially PA-C Sexton and her nurse Toni. They are kind, compassionate, and highly professional. The office visits are efficient, yet the providers take their time with patients, carefully walking through multiple treatment options and answering questions thoroughly. I truly felt heard and well cared for throughout my visit.
Never again. Not only did the dermatologist leave me scarred despite my meticulous care of the wound, her team sent the sample to a lab not covered by my insurance, sticking me with a massive bill. Stay away. There are better dermatologists in the area who have more competent front office staff.
I saw Jessica Smith twice and truly had a great experience. She and the staff are friendly and informative. So nice to go to a medical clinic and be treated with such warmth.
Had an issue with a nurse calling to give me results that were communicated incorrectly. When the nurse called to explain herself, I said I only wished for the doctor to give me results from then on so I can ask questions that would be addressed immediately so no more confusion. She had attitude & scoffed when I asked this. At my next appointment, there was a shift in mood from other staff members. I received a note in the mail with my results underlined in black bold sharpie.😂 Will not be returning.
I had an appointment for the 4/22 and had a rescheduled because of me being legally blind in one eye and unable to drive. I had to cancel because my grandmother has cancer and had to go in for surgery. Scheduling team reschedule me with no problem and then i was discharged after they rescheduled me. I fallowed the 48 hour policy. I am so frustrated with this. They charge you and discharge you as a patient.
