About Braces by Bird

Based on Riverstone Way in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, North Carolina, Braces by Bird is a dental practice serving the area. Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Orthodontic treatment straightens teeth and corrects bite problems using braces, clear aligners, or similar appliances over a period that commonly runs from about a year to several years depending on the case. It is offered to both children, where early evaluation can catch developing issues, and adults at any age.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Just had my child’s palette expander removed and despite some nerves the staff and DAISY were INCREDIBLE! Thank you for helping my child through the nerves and being so personable. ¡Te agradecemos!

As a mom, I’m SO happy with the results my son has had with Dr. Bird. He had both lower and upper expanders, which created the space he needed and made a HUGE difference. What surprised me most was how much more than his teeth improved. Before treatment, he snored, ground his teeth, and often sounded congested at night. Since expansion, he breathes and sleeps much better, and the congestion is gone. Dr. Bird and the entire team have been kind, knowledgeable, and wonderful with children. We’re very grateful for the care my son received and highly recommend this office to any parent considering orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Bird is truly the best! My daughter has the most incredible smile thanks to her, and now she is treating my son as well. Dr. Bird is a perfectionist who delivers amazing results in a professional manner. The only downside is that she seems to be having sissues with her phone provider lately—many calls don't seem to go through. However, she is absolutely worth the extra effort to reach. If you want a perfect smile, she is the one

We have been working with Dr. Bird for over a year now. We have three kids in care. They are 10, 7 and 5. Dr. Bird’s kindness and deep care for each of my kids is what immediately made me feel so comfortable with her. She carefully curated a plan for each of my kids to help expand their small upper and lower pallets and even diagnosed their tongue ties too. We used her for their tongue and lip tie revisions and they healed beautifully. The immediate range of motion that my kids had was amazing. She even recommended myofacial therapy before and after the ties were reversed which was very helpful. After a year of expanding their pallets my kids are sleeping better, eating better and most of all have these big beautiful smiles ready for their adult teeth. One of my kids has completely stopped wetting the bed and another no longer suffers from sleep apnea since expansion. We drive an hour to see Dr. Bird because she really is the best at what she does. She is incredibly knowledgeable, makes my kids feel so comfortable in the chair and has answered my hundreds of questions with patience and grace. If you’re looking for a pediatric dentist or orthodontist look no further.

Dr. Bird is amazing! My son needed extra TLC during his treatment due to sensory and oral setbacks, and we cannot thank Dr. Bird, Leann, and the entire staff enough for their outstanding patience and dedication. They went above and beyond to make my son feel comfortable and safe throughout his treatments.

I have two kids that go to braces by Bird (I have three, but my oldest has aged out as she is in college now) We absolutely love this practice as well as their dental practice. If one of my kids has an ever has a problem with their braces, they always make time to fit them in and fix the problem asap! They are an extremely professional practice, and let you know every step of the process and clearly explain all charges and get your permission to proceed accordingly. I have referred friends to Dr.Bird after less desirable outcomes at other practices and they have had a great experience as well. One of my kids had to have oral surgery, and Dr. Bird had excellent communication between us and the surgeon that she recommended and works with. It was as seamless an experience as you could possibly have. We love the bird house!
