About Burg Childrens Dentistry & Orthodontics - Hunter Park
5600 West is the spine of the west side, and this office sits on it at 2792 South, a few blocks from Hunter Park and a minute from the Cinemark and the restaurants along the same stretch. From downtown Salt Lake City it is I-215 west and in from the north, roughly twenty minutes outside rush hour; from Kearns, Magna or Hunter itself it is surface streets the whole way. Parking sits at the door, which matters when you are wrangling a car seat. Hours run 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and stop at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Dr. Bradley Smith runs a practice built for children rather than a general office that also sees them: cleanings and exams, fillings, and the restorative work that follows when decay is found late. That last category draws the most questions. When a cavity reaches between two baby molars and approaches the nerve, a plain filling often will not hold, because the remaining walls are thin and the contact point takes chewing load every day. The usual answer is a pulpotomy: the inflamed upper portion of the nerve tissue is removed, the chamber is medicated and sealed, and a preformed crown covers the tooth so bite force lands on metal or ceramic instead of weakened enamel. The treated baby tooth still sheds on its normal schedule, and the crown comes out with it. The point of saving it is to hold the space so the permanent tooth erupts where it belongs.
Orthodontics runs from the same building, and for a teenager the live question is usually brackets or clear aligners. Aligners are a series of trays swapped every week or two, each shaped slightly beyond where the teeth currently sit, with small tooth-coloured attachments bonded on to give the plastic something to push against. They come out for meals, which is why they place no restrictions on food and why brushing stays simple. The catch is arithmetic: they move teeth only while they are in the mouth, and the target is around twenty-two hours a day. Some movements, such as rotating a round premolar or closing a large extraction space, remain more predictable with fixed brackets.
Children's emergencies are seen here rather than sent on, whether that is a tooth knocked out on the playground, a broken front tooth, or sudden swelling. The office commits fully to a superhero theme with games, movies and prizes, which lands well with a five-year-old and may read as loud to a fifteen-year-old. This is the Hunter Park location; sister offices sit on the east bench and in Bountiful.
A children's dentistry and orthodontics office on 5600 West in West Valley City, covering cleanings, fillings, crowns for badly decayed baby molars, and children's emergencies, with braces and clear aligners treated in the same building rather than referred across the valley. Open to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closing at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

I love how sweet and friendly are the nurses and the doctor Too thanks you for amazing service
The appointment itself was five stars. The reception is what got me for our last appointment. 6 months ago, I put in my calendar a 9:00am appointment. I got a text to confirm the appointment the day before saying the appointment was at 9:30am. The morning of, I got a text that said the appointment was at 9:00am. We hurried out the door and got there before 9:00am only to sit and wait until our appointment at 9:30am. Around 9:15am, I asked the receptionist why I got two texts with different times. They looked at me as if I was crazy and just said the appointment was scheduled for 9:30am. Moral of the story: verify what time your appointment is so you don’t have to sit in the waiting area with young kids for 45 minutes.
Did a great job fitting us in for the work my granddaughter granddaughter needed.
The front desk was amazing, helping us out with patience and professionalism due to it being our very first time with them. The Doctor and the assistant handled my little boy with care and they knew what they were doing. They were persistent and diligent with my little families first time. Great first impression !!!
We’ve had an amazing experience with Dr. Harris and the entire team at Burg Orthodontics! From the very first consultation, they’ve been incredibly welcoming, professional, and thorough. Dr. Harris took the time to explain every step of the treatment plan for my kids, and always made sure we felt comfortable and informed. The staff is friendly, efficient, and great with kids—every visit feels smooth and stress-free. They create a fun, positive environment that truly helps put children at ease, especially when it comes to braces and orthodontic care. Both of my children are seeing fantastic results, and I couldn’t be happier with the care and attention they’ve received. I highly recommend Burg Orthodontics to any family looking for high-quality orthodontic treatment. Thank you, Dr. Harris and team, for your dedication and outstanding care
Needed to find a dentist closer to home and needed to get in quick, we found burg dental and they were able to get us an appointment for the next day! The appointment went great, my child is usually scared but they were so calm and kind. So far it was a great experience!
I have been taking my kids here for years. My oldest son is autistic and they have been so good with him! We went from him fighting to brush his teeth to him actually looking forward to the dentist. Can’t recommend burgs enough!!
My daughter got permanent spacers and they fell off within 6 hours. She then got braces which fell off within two days. Update: I received a call from the office and the response was incredibly kind. My daughter is only 8 so some issues (playing with braces, for example) is bound to happen. We went back to the office for a repair and everything has been good since. The team used stronger wire and glue to help prevent any further issues. I greatly appreciate the office staff and team at the office.
