Integrated dental care on Calle Ocho in Flagami Miami
Smyleee Rating
Good
Southwest 8th Street — Calle Ocho — is the spine of Miami's Cuban exile community, running through Little Havana and into the dense commercial strip of Flagami, where Cuban-American family life, food, music, and commerce have flourished since the 1960s. Cano Health West Miami at 6801 SW 8th Street sits in the heart of this corridor, ZIP 33144, part of a network that has built one of South Florida's largest value-based primary care platforms.
Cano Health operates a multi-specialty, integrated care model that brings primary care, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services together under a single organizational umbrella. The dental component within the West Miami location provides general dentistry to patients in the Cano Health network, with particular emphasis on serving Medicare Advantage and Medicaid populations — the segments of Miami-Dade's population who most depend on a coordinated care model that removes barriers between specialties.
General dentistry through an integrated health organization like Cano Health carries a different character than independent private practice: appointments tie into a patient's broader health record, coordination with primary care physicians can address systemic connections between oral health and chronic disease management, and the value-based care model creates incentive alignment toward preventive services rather than fee-for-service volume. Cleanings, X-rays, fillings, and extractions delivered in this context are embedded in a patient health relationship that extends beyond the dental chair.
The SW 8th Street location in Flagami serves a predominantly Spanish-speaking population, and Cano Health's operational design reflects the linguistic and cultural norms of the communities it serves. For patients who are established in Cano Health's primary care network and seeking coordinated dental access, the West Miami location provides a convenient in-network option on the Calle Ocho corridor.
The Flagami location is served by surface parking consistent with the commercial strip format of SW 8th Street, and the corridor's transit access on Miami-Dade Transit routes connects the practice to patients across the western Miami catchment. Cano Health West Miami's dental access through an integrated model offers a population health-oriented approach to general dental care on one of Miami's most culturally significant commercial streets.

I just went to Cano health, I had such a great experience starting from the benefits coordinator to the Doctor. I will continue to bring my mom there. The clinic is very clean and well organized and the team is excellent. In summary a great experience
My grandma has been attending cano for a couple of years and I have never had any problems. She is attended when she needs to pretty quickly. Even when it is a walking urgent appointment. Her Dr. Fundora has been amazing as well as the front desk. They have all been polite. The patient enrollment has also helped a lot when it comes to information about my grandma's insurance benefits alongside the Social Service when it comes to renewing her food stamps. All I can say is thank you all for the amazing treatment we have received.
When they first opened they was great super me and my family couldn't complain. The only person that stood is my mom and after today I have considered to change her. Front desk is so unprofessional. They give you attitude they fry eggs with there mouth. I work in the medical industry and never in my life I have treated any patient or any one the way they do. And am not the only person that complains even workes. If the managers doesn't see what's going on then she as well needs to be changed.
I had the worst experience a person can have at this location. Get ready for hours waiting to see a doctor even with appointment scheduled. Get ready to wait hours for a procedure. Do not be surprised if you get a bill with a wrong Code and responsible for a payment you do not own. They are Masters on this. I have had multiple experiences with doctors and medical centers but this one honestly exceeded the amount of bad experiences from the very beginning up to a phone call I never got waiting for an answer to my wrong billing code. There is no respect for people's time and zero ethics.
This place has become a horrible place to deal with. No one ever wants to help. They are all smiles and helpfulness until you become an actual patient. Then they never have the time or answers for you. Call are never returned. Physician's cannot take or return calls. Their locations are negligent of the elderly population and their specific needs.
