auto-syncedAbout Cape Fear Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Cape Fear Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a dental practice on Robeson Street in the Terry Sanford area of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery covers surgical conditions of the face, jaw, and mouth, from wisdom teeth and jaw realignment through to facial trauma and reconstruction, carried out by surgeons trained in both dentistry and surgery.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. Have tried calling so many times over multiples days (literally back to back for 2 hours today) with no answer at all. Their voicemail inbox is also full so you can’t leave a message either. Wish they would just pick up the phone
They were so friendly and professional I have to have oral surgery and feel I’m in good hands.
The ladies were very caring and made me feel comfortable even though I was scared out of my mind.

Went in kinda nervous, wanted a very painful molar removed, my dentist referral sent me here. My tooth extraction are usually not cut and dry, the staff here made me feel very at ease, even set a Saturday appointment for the surgery so I won't miss any time from work, I have no insurance and they gave me an upfront detail of exactly what cost would be, Much less than I thought..I can't wait to get this done now. I am very confident that I will be in kind and caring hands here I highly recommend them...got the tooth removed painlessly! They are true ROCKSTARS at what they do. I won't hesitate to recommend Cape Fear oral surgery to anyone!.
Came into get wisdom teeth removed. Ended up getting a dry socket and I came in about a week later to get treatment for it. Was not helped at all, rudely turned away and told I don’t have one, told me to just “take more pain medication” showed no sympathy for my pain and acted like i was being a nuisance . Pain continued to worsen after that and 2 days later I went and got a second opinion at a different dental clinic. They confirmed the presence of a dry socket and thankfully treated it properly.
Was nervous about getting all my wisdom teeth extracted, but the staff put me at ease. The staff do their best to make sure you're comfortable during before and after the procedure. Also, they are helpful with any questions you may after leaving. Good job!!! And thank you for making the extraction as comfortable as possible!!!!
