Capital Kids Dentistry is located at Suite 240, 4200 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest in Washington DC's 20016 zip code — the Tenleytown neighborhood of upper Northwest DC. Wisconsin Avenue in the 4200 block is in the heart of Tenleytown's commercial and retail district, near the Tenleytown Metro station and American University. Capital Kids Dentistry's name and pediatric focus signal a practice dedicated exclusively to young patients — infants through teenagers — with a clinical approach calibrated to child development, age-appropriate behavior management, and the distinctive needs of primary and transitional dentition. Pediatric dental specialists receive two additional years of residency training beyond dental school, focusing on child psychology as it relates to dental anxiety, sedation protocols for young or anxious patients, and the management of primary teeth and developing permanent dentitions.
Services at Capital Kids Dentistry cover the full pediatric scope: infant oral health evaluations from the first tooth, fluoride applications and sealants for cavity prevention, monitoring of primary tooth eruption and permanent tooth development, treatment of cavities in primary and permanent teeth, space maintainers for early tooth loss, and management of pediatric dental injuries. Tenleytown's residential character and family-friendly neighborhood identity make it a natural home for a pediatric dental practice.
Suite 240 at 4200 Wisconsin Avenue NW is accessible from the Tenleytown Metro station and the Wisconsin Avenue corridor, with parking available in the building. I’ve been taking my three children to this practice since my eldest got teeth and have always had a great experience. Dr. Rubin works hard to make the kids comfortable and put them at ease. We’ve weathered cavities, dental emergencies, and orthodontia, and through it all received great advice and top notch care. When I switched insurance recently the front desk worked with me to make sure our care would be reimbursed and uninterrupted. Highly recommend!
So frustrating! They happily booked me an appointment after taking all my insurance info on the phone, then once I showed up with my kid they suddenly said they’re out of network. By then I had already taken the day off work and had no choice but to pay extra. Feels like a trick, and it’s just not right. Families deserve to know the truth up front.
Dr Rubin picked up her phone after hours and immediately assisted with an emergency with our son. She got us an appointment the next day and her follow up was excellent. Not only is she great, but her entire staff is awesome. Highly recommend!!
We had a great experience bringing my toddler in for his first visit! I was nervous since he barely lets me brush his teeth, but the dentist did such a great job. She helped him to feel comfortable and made it fun. She was also very quick, which was appreciated!
Yes it is such a great place for kids. You can watch your favorite cartoon while you get your teeth cleaning. Gentle and patient with kids. Recommend recommend recommend
