About Carolina Comfort Dental
Carolina Comfort Dental operates on Raeford Road in the Douglas Byrd area of Fayetteville, North Carolina. At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. Very surprised for any negative reviews here. I am so impressed with every single detail of my visit! The office staff was amazing with booking, allowing me to reschedule when I got sick with no issues. Texting was super easy to set up my appointment times. I came in right at my appointment time scared they would be mad I wasn't early, no attitude whatsoever! Every single person I interacted with was FRIENDLY, reassuring, PROFESSIONAL, competent and really good at explaining everything from start to finish. They were patient, sweet and very thorough. I felt like the cleaning was not rushed and every nook and cranny was taken care of. My mouth did not hurt at all and in fact it felt very pleasant to have my gums worked on. The Dentist is very good as well, making sure to be gentle but get in there and check. I'm beyond pleased with this office and have breathed a sigh of relief, not only because I'm scared of the dentist and I'm not afraid of them, but also because customer service in this town is severely lacking EVERYWHERE but here. Thank you to everyone for your amazing work!
Front desk staff seem friendly but very unprepared. The staff dosen't have or give their patients the same information. Been trying for over a year to get a deep cleaning, 1st I had to get approval from insurance which is fine but it took a year to get a call back. Noone answers the phone or returns phone messages. My second appointment they call to verify I am still coming and if medicines have changed. When I get there they ask about surgeries in the last year, I tell them yes and they inform I can have dental work till I get a clearance from the doctor and antibiotics. Go to the Dr. That day get my antibiotics but my doctor ask if they have their own form to fill out for a clearance or if they have to provide one. The front dest told me no form was needed just take the antibiotics before appointment day and they scheduled my next one. Go to the dentist today after over a year wait to just get turned away again because I didn't have a clearance paper or the proper antibiotics. All they can say is I know its frustrating. All of this could of been prevented if they returned calls, get on the same page regarding information that needs to be given and they need to ask these questions before making the appointments. Wasted my time for 3 appointments because I wasn't given all the information before hand. They act like my time is valuable.
I took my daughter to this office with myself for a cleaning, and apparently the young lady who was working that day was inexperienced! They never scaled, flossed her teeth…only to rush thru the entire service! I called back to try to get some type of resolution such as could they schedule us to come back in so that the service could be completed. No one called me back so I canceled all for the appointments called Medicaid with a complaint was told I could take my daughter elsewhere when I tried to they said that until Carolina Comfort Voids that request for payment my daughter‘s teeth could not be cleaned for another six months! I understand people take vacations and some employees do not come to work, but as a paying customer, I should not have had to go through this! i’m still trying to have Dr. Tan and his employee a chance to correct this but when I came in to ask for the office manager, she was not in, the young lady who did the incomplete cleaning went and got him. He stood by the front desk and listened and didn’t say a word so I was left to leave and call back the next day and I’m sure they’re not gonna call me,. I will simply pay the $209 out-of-pocket and take my business elsewhere… €Update£ The young lady at the front desk Jamie returned my call and informed me that they would re-clean my daughter’s teeth if I decide so we’re gonna see what happens this time!
Brought my son in because he was having severe tooth pain. Dr. Nguyen was great. Very professional and put us at ease with the plan. Mary was amazing! She explained everything to me and walked me through everything step-by-step with a smile on her face and care for my son and his treatment plan. Thank y’all!!!
The level of care and bedside manner is second to none! My dentist is MY dentist from here on out! He was quick, the needles for numbing were barely felt, and my smile looks better than ever! Not trying to put all the exclamation points, but I mean every word. Super crazy happy with this experience and care (and fighting not to put another exclamation)...
