Excellent personal and prompt service plus follow-up to my unique dental needs
Shannon always does an expert cleaning/scaling. I have been with her for almost 20 years and she has never disappointed me. She is also very knowledgeable about teeth hygiene and care.
I tried to address my concerns directly with the practice before writing this review, but unfortunately they were unwilling to discuss them. About a month ago, I booked what was told would be a free Invisalign consultation. Before I received a quote, I was given an X-ray, which I assumed was necessary as part of the consultation. When I checked out, I specifically confirmed there was no charge and was told the consultation was free. After receiving the treatment plan, a family member suggested I get a second opinion from our family orthodontist, who is a Top 1% Invisalign provider. Their assessment was significantly different. The quote was $4,000 less, all in, and the estimated treatment time was five months shorter. I understand that pricing can vary between practices, especially depending on location, but such a large difference in both cost and treatment duration made me question the recommendation. I decided not to jump to conclusions, but it did leave me feeling cautious. A month later, I received an invoice. The practice had billed my insurance for the X-ray and was charging me the remaining balance. This was surprising because I had been told the consultation was free, and it was never explained that the X-ray would be billed separately or that it wasn't actually required just to provide a quote. I called the office, not because I was concerned about the $17 balance itself, but because I wanted to understand how this happened. The unexpected billing, combined with the significant difference in the treatment plan compared with another provider, left me feeling uncertain about continuing my care there. I was hoping someone would explain the situation and address my concerns. Instead, I was told that because the balance was only $17, my concerns would not be raised and that I should simply pay it. I explained that the amount wasn't the issue, that it was the lack of transparency and communication. I also shared that, without an explanation, I wasn't comfortable moving forward as I worried about the possibility of being recommended unnecessary treatment or receiving additional unexpected charges in the future. My concerns didn't seem to matter. After discussing everything with my husband, I decided to continue with his family's dentist instead. It's a bit farther to drive, but I value feeling confident that treatment recommendations are appropriate, billing is transparent, and patient concerns are taken seriously. It's disappointing because this office would have been much more convenient, but trust is more important.
My friends recommended me the clinic and Dr. Chris specifically. I had a severe and sharp pain in one of my teeth. It appeared there was a serious inflammation that required immediate attention. I am super pleased with my experience, with friendliness and professionalism of everyone I have interacted with, and especially Dr. Chris. As a result, I got the proper treatment (four root canals treated and prepared for the subsequent follow up). I am super grateful for all the help and understanding!
I have a lot of dental anxiety, but Dr.Chris and his team made me feel completely at ease. Everyone was kind, patient, and professional, and the care was excellent. Highly recommend!
Our family loves Dr. Zed and the entire team. They provide a good treatment plan, have always verified what our plan will (and will not) cover before our appointment , and they are great with all kinds of kids. When my son cracked his front tooth Dr.Zed fit us in immediately and he was able to have his grad pictures taken ! Modern, clean and very knowledgeable staff. Happy to recommend!
Saw Dr. Verena Lam and she was great! It was a smooth and seamless experience and I was done in no time. Drove all he way from North Burnaby to see her and it was absolutely worth it :)
Very thorough, makes sure that you remember your appointment with updates and reminders. Easy to use your dental plans and the receptionist (I didn’t get her name) sooooo friendly, helpful and accommodating. Thank you!
