About Center City Dental

Center City Dental operates on Kenilworth Avenue in the Dilworth area of Charlotte, North Carolina. Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Comprehensive care generally means a practice can handle most of a patient's dental needs in-house — preventive, restorative, and often minor cosmetic or surgical treatment — reducing how often patients are referred elsewhere for routine work.

A filling repairs a tooth after decay has been cleaned out, most often using tooth-coloured composite resin that is shaped and bonded to blend with the surrounding tooth. It is usually completed in a single appointment and is one of the most routine restorative procedures in dentistry.

Tooth Decay Treatment is also among the treatments offered here, and the practice can explain what it involves and whether it fits your situation at a consultation.

General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. Dr Walsh has been taking care of my teeth for many many years and I would never trust them to any other dentist unless it was a dire emergency! You can trust him and his staff to take care of you with the most knowledge and care. Go and see him for your gentle needs, he is the best!

It was the best dental experience I’ve had so far! I wish I could remember her name, but the person who took my X-rays and cleaned my teeth was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She explained everything clearly, showed me each issue, and answered all of my questions before the dentist even came in. I really appreciated how thorough and caring she was. Highly recommend!

My cleanings here are always great but Ellen was excellent. She told me some things to keep an eye on and made recommendations to keep my dental health on track. Super patient and took her time. Will always come back here.

I am absolutely blown away by the level of professionalism and friendliness of the staff at this office. I’ve gone to the same dentist for years, but when they stopped taking my insurance, I had to find a new dentist office. Today was my first visit and they have truly been remarkable. My dental hygienist, Michelle, was a true sweetheart. She made me feel comfortable and we had a great conversation. She gave great advice and pointers. The front of office staff was also super helpful with getting referral sent over to an oral surgeon for me. The dentist offered a procedure on one of my front teeth that no one’s offered before at a very affordable price. Overall, I’m truly blown away and I’m happy to have found a new dental office that I trust with absolutely astounding staff!

Switched to this dentist and love it. They are honest and don’t push things that don’t need to be done right away. Melissa was such a positive light in my day and love how she explains everything she’s doing and is so kind. The dentist lady was straight to the point and quick. Would recommend!

Very friendly staff, very skilled hygienists and dentists. Spotless facility. And I love how proactive they are in explaining what they're doing, why they're doing it, what I should be doing, and how to do it. Every time I visit I leave feeling more prepared to take care of my teeth and health.
