About Chandler Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Chandler Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery provides dental care on East Queen Creek Road in Chandler, Arizona. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. No. Wisdom teeth that come through cleanly, in a good position, and can be kept clean are often left alone. Removal is generally advised when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front.
Why do wisdom teeth cause problems?
They arrive last, often into a jaw with no room left, so they become impacted or come through at an angle. Partly erupted wisdom teeth are also very difficult to clean, which is why they are prone to repeated infection and decay.
What happens during a routine dental examination?
The dentist checks the teeth for decay, examines the gums, looks at any existing fillings and crowns, and screens the soft tissues. X-rays are taken when there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth.

I had an incredible experience from the moment I walked in, the front desk staff made me feel welcomed and cared for.The office is clean, organized, and runs on time. I’m so happy I found this place and would highly recommend it to anyone I had the best experience with Dr.Yong! He very knowledgeable, patient, professional and gentle throughout the entire visit. Dr. Yong took the time to explain everything and made sure I was comfortable. The whole process was smooth and stress-free. The whole team made me feel at ease, and everything was explained clearly. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience . I highly recommend Dr. Yong to anyone looking for a great oral surgeon!

Best oral surgeon in town hands down! If you fear the thought of having your wisdom teeth out, fear no more. Dr Yung made my appointment very pleasant. But wait there is more, he even offers sedation which I opted out of but still had an amazing wisdom teeth visit. Very knowledgeable staff.

I can’t say enough great things about this practice. Thank you Dr. Yong for not only listening to me but also caring for me like you would for your family. It’s hard to find someone to trust nowadays but I was in the best hands. Thank you again for easing me through my phobia!

Dr. Yong at Chandler Oral Surgery is amazing. I was referred to him by a coworker for my son's wisdom teeth extractions. Dr. Yong made the process easy and pain free, my son was in and out in less than an hour. He literally walked out and said "that was easy" even now 3 days out he has minimal pain and only needed to take his prescribed pain medication one time and has been fine with just Tylenol for any other mild discomfort. Dr. Yongs team made sure that all questions were anwsered prior to the treatment and Rebecca made sure that any financial concerns were addressed. They even had payment options which made paying for the treatment much more affordable. If you are looking for a confident Dr. Who make the process easy and pain free Chandler Oral Surgery is amazing!

Best Doctor in Arizona I was really worried coming into the appointment today they make you feel so comfortable and you don’t feel not a percentage of pain. Best and trusting dentistry to come to by a mile.

Great experience! I was referred to Dr Yong from my dentist after he was not able to extract a wisdom tooth. It was a painful experience since my Dentist took only half of it out. Dr Yong, not only extracted it but also consulted me through the pain & suffering. I returned back for 2 more wisdom tooth extractions and this time it was very easy. Great team & clean office.
