About Charlotte Dentistry
Charlotte Dentistry provides dental care on Providence Road in the Elizabeth area of Charlotte, North Carolina. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.
Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.
A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.
Cosmetic dentistry covers treatment aimed primarily at appearance — whitening, veneers, bonding, and reshaping among the more common options — for patients who are less concerned with a problem that hurts than with how their smile looks day to day. The right combination depends on what specifically you would like to change.
Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.
Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control. I once gave this place five stars but routinely overbooking patients and then cancelling on them days before is unacceptable. Not to mention that it takes months to get an appointment in the first place. Not ethical
This business has taken on more customers than they can properly service. This causes SOME of the people who answer the phones and book the appointments to speak rudely towards the customer. It is June 1st and they are already booked out until next year for existing patients! This place is stricly about money, not about customers.
Dr. McPaul you are the best! You and your team saved my tooth. Thank you!! Ramona
I confirmed my appointment for today and I got taken off the schedule anyways. There was no outreach other than an automated text from the day before (several days after I had already confirmed), which I was unavailable at the time to respond. I had the information they requested upon arrival. It is totally unacceptable to lack client care, empathy, and consideration. The experience and “resolution” was extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend this practice. I had been a regular client of this practice for decades, throughout my childhood and adulthood until today. I am extremely disappointed in the way that I was treated.
I just want to say how thankful I am for Dr. McPhaul, his hygienist, and Lisa Suggs, the patient coordinator. Dr. McPhaul was incredibly kind and understanding. I have PTSD and anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist, and not once did they make me feel the way other dental offices have in the past. I actually left with happy tears. Thank you for truly caring and most importantly, for showing compassion. Lisa was also a tremendous help. She made sure I understood my treatment plan, helped with scheduling, and assisted me in applying for Sunbit financing. I’m so grateful for the support I received from the entire team. May God Continue to bless you all
Ever since the older orthodontist retired my services have been very subpar. First I was only offered metal braces and only after the application they let me know ceramic was an option. I started having a reaction to the metal and instead of an urgency to find a resolve I was given runarounds, rescheduled appts and more fees. I am only back because I was steered away from a permanent bracket the first time, when my original orthodontist here directly suggested it ( he retired in the middle of my initial treatment). It has been a madhouse of inconvenience, frustration and misguidance, it should not be this hard.
After A YEAR I finally get my retainers delivered . This has been the WORSE experience ever. I do not like the ortho department. Today the girl Tamika is not a people person.no greeting no acknowledgement she said MY NAME WRONG. They gave me week 4 first instead of week 1! So backwards. She came around towards the end of. Not giving the culture of what they were built on. Nevertheless, I’m glad it’s over and I pray I never have to come back to the ortho department
I just returned from my first dental appointment at Charlotte Dentistry and was very impressed with how smoothly and quickly the appointment went. I also appreciated the excellent care and cleaning I received from Jennifer Rainwater.
My son received braces here and I purchased extra retainers, I have called in several times to get an appointment to get my son fitted for his retainers the first time I called they told me he had to get a procedure done first ( bonding) then once we got that taken care of they are now saying they refunded me for the retainers which isn’t true. The staff there is unprofessional and rude and I wouldn’t recommend this dentist to anyone. My family has been with this dentistry since I was a little girl and it seems like every since Dr.Armstrong has left the professionalism and customer service left with him.Ive been promised multiple phone calls back and still no response. DO NOT DO Business with them.
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. McPhaul and especially my hygienist, Melissa. I’ve always had a lot of dental anxiety, but Melissa made the entire experience so easy and comfortable. She was incredibly gentle, kind, and reassuring the whole time — even during my cavity filling, which ended up being quick, painless, and stress-free. Dr. McPhaul and his team run such a professional, welcoming office that truly puts patient wellbeing first.
I am appalled at the way business is done now that Tracey is gone. No one answers the phone, the response is not understood when you enter the number the recording says to enter 2, 3, 4, 6 the recording says it doesn’t understand the response. This is ridiculous then I get a text from an unknown number at 9:00 pm at night telling me my appointment for Thursday is canceled. I didnot ask anyone to cancel my appointment. No one ask me about my new email of course. I retired and no longer have my cms email. So I didn’t get any messages. I am struggling now on my small retirement money and certainly don’t need anyone charging me for something I didnot receive. I have never in all he 25 years of coming to Charlotte Denistry experience such incompetent response from this office. Tracey customer relations is absolutely missed and she would always answer that phone to know what you needed. I am not pleased an would advise others to go elsewHere since Tracey is no longer there.
Dr. Bailey is an amazing dentist. She make sure that her patient leaves with a smile. She is very caring and so passionate from her job that she does. My name is Maria Santiago and I gotta tell you I was scared to go see her. She made me feel safe. She knows what she’s doing. Got four teeth extracted and I got dentures and her and her team did an amazing job with the dentures now I could smile again and feel like myself. Dr. Bailey did that for me so thank you so much Doctor Bailey you and your Assistance rock. !! you deserve more than five stars so thank you so much for all you did for me
