About Chicago Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics

Chicago Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics operates on South Delano Court in the Chicago Loop area of Chicago, Illinois. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. Are dental X-rays safe for children?
Modern digital X-rays use a very low dose and are taken only when there is a clinical reason. They show decay between teeth and problems with developing adult teeth that cannot be seen by looking.
When do children start losing baby teeth?
Usually from around age six, continuing until roughly age twelve, though the timing varies widely between children. Adult molars also come through at the back around age six without any baby tooth falling out first.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

I am always blown away by after each appointment! We always have such a positive experience. The office is clean and everyone from the staff members to the dentist are always SO nice and professional. My kids always look forward to their dentist appointments! This office is very accommodating. I had car trouble and I was late for our appointment today and they still honored the appointment for each of my kids-it means a lot.

I had a dental emergency when my diastema retainer unexpectedly broke, and I was referred here by Dr. Dow. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and they were able to fit me in the very same day. Dr. Dale went above and beyond during my visit. Not only did he repair my broken diastema retainer, but he also took the time to fix a small chip in my front tooth, which was an unexpected and greatly appreciated bonus. The care and willingness to help in an urgent situation truly exceeded my expectations. I am so grateful! (I also don’t have dental insurance, and they were upfront about the cost and made sure I understood everything before moving forward.)

I got my braces off today, and I honestly could not be happier with my experience at Chicago Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics with Dr. Dale. From start to finish, this has been such an amazing journey. Dr. Dale is incredible, and the entire staff is truly wonderful. Everyone in the office is so kind, welcoming, flexible, and always made me feel comfortable at every appointment. The office itself is adorable, with such a fun atmosphere, great music, consistently positive vibes, and even a Pac-Man game in the waiting area, which adds such a fun touch. It never felt stressful going in, which made the whole process even better. On top of that, the location is super convenient, they offer free parking, and their payment plans made orthodontic treatment feel much more accessible and manageable. Most importantly, my teeth look amazing, and I am beyond thrilled with my results. Even though “pediatric” is in the name, they absolutely provide adult orthodontic care too, and I highly recommend them for both kids and adults. I truly loved my experience here and cannot recommend Dr. Dale and Chicago Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics enough. If you are considering braces or orthodontic treatment, this is the place to go.

I love this dentistry for my girls. It’s in a great location with convenient parking. The office is always clean, organized, and welcoming. They even have games for kids to play while waiting (though we rarely wait long). The check-in process is top-notch, and they call you right away when it’s your turn. The doctors and assistants are all friendly, gentle, and very efficient—they really don’t waste your time. What makes it even better is that they give kids a token for a toy after each visit. It’s such a thoughtful touch that helps make dentist visits feel fun and not scary, and now my kids actually look forward to going! I noticed some businesses have left Icon Roosevelt Collection, and I truly hope this dentist office stays. We love them so much!

I’m starting my orthodontic treatment here, and I will say. I highly recommended this place for anyone wanting to start their orthodontic journey. Dr. Dale and Becky were incredible. They made me feel comfortable in starting my orthodontic treatment, which for a long time I was always afraid of. I appreciate Dr. Dale explaining everything without making it complicated. His care that he demonstrates for every single of his patient, makes me trust this office with my teeth. Overall, a very positive experience and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for caring and professional orthodontic guidance. I’m excited to start my orthodontic journey in this office, I know I will be in good hands :)
