Children's Choice Dental Care Oxnard

It’s a long wait for the appointment but the dental assistants, dentist and the rest of the staff are very friendly and work hard to make the space feel welcoming for the kids. My son was terrified at the thought of the dentist and they were very patient and understanding, even while there was tears.

My kids have been attending this dental office since they were little for at least eight years. I would say they’ve always been good caring treated the kids with care. My little one was real scared at first not anymore.

This place has new dentist and workers every time I come in, chairs are always empty at the time of my appointments and they still take a long time to get started

My daughter has a big fear of the dental offices. Ruby did an amazing job making my daughter feel safe and comfortable. My daughter left the office with no tears and a happy clean smile! I recommend this place.

The team here takes excellent care of their clients. My baby has been coming since she had 5 teeth and they have provided great service and passed down to me information to best take care of her teeth at every stage of her development! Definitely recommend.

Love this dentist office. Taking my 4 year old autistic daughter in for a check up used to sound like a nightmare to me. She still hates having anyone inspect her smile but aside from the exam she had a great time. I can’t say enough nice things about the dentist and staff. My family and I are very grateful. 🙏

Beyond grateful for the staff at Children’s Choice! They managed to turn my neurodivergent son’s phobia of dentist visits around. We had been with several other providers before finding Children’s Choice and I am so glad we did! My son experienced many bad and several traumatic sessions leading us to be waitlisted with UCLA to put him under anesthesia in order to complete the necessary work - then we found Children’s Choice. From scheduling to initial consult I already felt heard and like it could be a positive experience. The receptionists always greet you warmly and manage the chaos of multiple-child-families with grace and compassion. The techs and hygienists are professional, lead with calm demeanors putting patients (and mom!) at ease. The dentist is thorough and works with each child’s individual needs to create a comprehensive treatment plan that is patient-centered. You won’t ever feel like a number here. Children’s Choice is compassionate care for children of all ages and stages.

I trusted this office with my 5-year-old son, and it turned into a 2-year nightmare. The dentist insisted on doing a baby-tooth root canal and placing a spacer instead of extracting the tooth, even though I asked multiple times if extraction was the safer choice. I was told “no, we must save the tooth,” and they pressured me into a treatment plan I was not comfortable with. The result? My son suffered constant pain for two years. He had repeated infections on his gums, swelling, and was prescribed antibiotics multiple times. The infection spread to the surrounding roots, and now at age 7, another dentist had to extract 5 healthy teeth but indicted roots because the original problem was never handled properly. All this pain, stress, antibiotics, and trauma could have been avoided if the tooth had simply been removed when I originally asked. This was supposed to be pediatric dental care, but instead it caused long-term damage and unnecessary suffering. I will never bring my child back here, and I strongly recommend parents get a second opinion before allowing this office to perform invasive work on their kids.
