About Children's Dental World

Children's Dental World operates on South Wallace Street in the Bridgeport area of Chicago, Illinois. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. You can reach Children's Dental World through this page to ask a question, check current availability, or request an appointment.

What services does Children's Dental World offer?

Are dental X-rays safe for children?
Modern digital X-rays use a very low dose and are taken only when there is a clinical reason. They show decay between teeth and problems with developing adult teeth that cannot be seen by looking.
When do children start losing baby teeth?
Usually from around age six, continuing until roughly age twelve, though the timing varies widely between children. Adult molars also come through at the back around age six without any baby tooth falling out first.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

Everyone was very kind and patient with my 5-year-old son. Overall wonderful experience!

Took both of my offspring for their first visit here, after some challenging dental trips at other offices. These folks are absolute pros, with the whole space geared toward making families comfortable and children at peace. No joke, my kids can't wait to go back, and they were having full-on conversations with the staff (and my kiddos are usually VERY shy). Start to finish, this was my best dental experience ever.

I had such a negative experience here, I DO NOT RECOMMEND. This was my daughter’s first time at the dentist. I knew it would be hard for her and she would feel a bit scared. Well that’s an understatement. First of all, you don’t even get a private room. Where the children are seen, it’s just a large room divided with curtains. Thus, you can hear what’s going on at the other stations. Any time a child cried or made sounds, it scared my daughter even more. And of course that made her cry and I felt bad for the other kids too. At one point I even heard a dentist at another station try to shush my daughter. It was such an uncomfortable experience. I was hopeful the staff could make it a better experience for her, but they did not. We literally saw the dentist for like 2 minutes. Aside from that, I am very upset at their billing practices. I found this practice on my Aetna search tool and it came up as in network. When I called to make an appointment, they asked for my insurance information and confirmed they accepted it. When I showed up to the appointment, BEFORE they saw my daughter, I asked the receptionist if there was a copay. SHE SAID NO. The insurance was covering it, so no payment was due. Great I thought. Well a couple months later, the office has started calling me saying that I owe them almost $200 for the visit because they are no longer in network with my insurance. This makes no sense to me, I verified several times with the office staff that services would be covered. If they weren’t covered, I obviously would not have gone. I don’t understand why, when I checked in for my appointment and asked about copays, I wasn’t told about the network thing. Please try to avoid going here. One last thing I will add is that I thought this was a pediatric only office. But when I arrived I saw that it’s actually an adult practice and they see pediatric patients. This surprised me because I was hoping that my daughter’s first time at the dentist would be a bit more catered to children if that makes sense. I think parents of small children will understand what I mean.

I cannot say enough about this great team. My daughter had a sedated dental procedure and they were so caring in their approach. Great communication! Great dentists! Their in-office anesthesiologist was the most skilled, amazing provider. Thank you Children’s Dental World!

We moved here from another country 4 years ago, and it was very important for us to find a good dentist for our son. English is not our first language, and at that time our son didn’t understand much and was scared of the dentist. I remember how nervous I felt before the first visit. But from the first appointment, Dr. Rami made us feel calm and comfortable. Over time, something amazing happened — my son is not afraid anymore. Now he goes to his appointments with a smile. For me, this means a lot. Dr. Rami is very kind, patient, and gentle with children. He takes his time, explains everything, and helps kids feel safe. The staff is also wonderful — very friendly and caring. They always explain what they are doing, step by step. As a mom, I really appreciate this. I’m so happy we found Children’s Dental World and Dr. Rami. I really recommend them to any parent looking for a caring and professional dentist for their child.

We have been going for 20 years and we absolutely love it. Everyone from the Dentists to the front desk staff are amazing. I've attempted to go somewhere closer to home (we live about 35 mins away) but have gone right back here. I don't feel like they are just in it for the money like other places, they really care, and give you the best possible option. Thank you Children's Dental World for your professionalism and caring at the same time. Our family loves you. 🫶🏼

The children absolutely LOVE coming all the way to Children’s Dental World in Chicago! We’ve tried a place close to home, but it wasn’t a great experience so we decided to try out Children’s Dental with our firstborn and stayed since! Now, all 5 of our children go here! The assistants (especially the head Dental Hygienist has known us since the beginning), and all the doctors have been WONDERFUL with our children. After each careful dental cleaning and check-up, they give the kids a bad of goodies which include a toothbrush of any Disney character, toothpaste, dental floss, and several quarters so they can get a cute little prize from their vending machine after their visit. They also make them cute character balloons and they give them a nice popsicle treat! They truly go over and beyond to love and care for each of their patients! A decade of going here with the extra 20 ish mileage is totally worth it! Thank you Children’s Dental World!
