About City Dental DC
City Dental DC is located at 703 D Street Northwest in Washington DC's 20004 zip code — the Penn Quarter and Chinatown neighborhood of central DC. D Street NW near 7th Street is in one of DC's most visited and transformed neighborhoods: Penn Quarter, where the Verizon Center (now Capital One Arena), the National Portrait Gallery, the Shakespeare Theatre, and numerous restaurants and bars have made this once-neglected district a hub of urban activity. Penn Quarter and Chinatown sit at the crossroads of the Metro system, with the Gallery Place-Chinatown station serving multiple Metro lines at this intersection.
City Dental DC's name signals a practice oriented to the urban DC context — accessible, contemporary, and positioned for the city-dwelling and working patient rather than the suburban commuter. The downtown Penn Quarter location serves a daytime population of office workers, tourists, and Metro commuters alongside the growing residential population of downtown DC and the nearby neighborhoods.
General dental care at City Dental DC covers the comprehensive scope patients need: preventive examinations, professional cleanings, restorative treatments for cavities and damaged teeth, diagnostic imaging, and ongoing management of dental health. The central DC location makes the practice accessible from multiple Metro lines and walkable from the major downtown DC employment centers in Penn Quarter, Federal Triangle, and the surrounding government and commercial districts.
The 703 D Street NW address is accessible from the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro station and the surrounding Penn Quarter street network, with parking in the neighborhood's commercial garages. For downtown DC patients who want dental care accessible from the heart of the city without a long Metro commute, City Dental DC at D Street NW provides that central access in one of Washington's most transit-connected neighborhoods.

Dr. John Tsaknis is the best!!! I am so grateful to have found City Dental!!! I was in terrible pain but with short notice they still made time to see me. From the front desk clerk, dental assistant/hygienist etc. everyone was pleasant and inviting. My dentist Dr. John Tsaknis was extremely gentle and did not one thing without explaining LmFreckledBo!! Highly recommend City Dental 💕 💞 ♥️
I'm terrified of the dentist, and definitely not a fan of being in the exam chair. But CityDental is different. They are honest, caring, and go through the process at your pace. The technicians listen vs. talking at you, and Dr. Tsaknis does the same. He makes his professional recommendations and explains why, then listens to your concerns. He does not force a treatment on you. It's why I trust them more than any other dentist I have been to in DC. If you're looking for a great Dentist and want one worth traveling too, this is the practice to go to.
I was a patient here for a short time. On my first visit they told me I had 4 cavities. I had never had one before in my life. They made me get 4 fillings. I’ve since left this dentist and I’ve never had a cavity since. I wish I’d gotten a second opinion.
Dr. Tsaknis was able to fit me in for an emergency when my normal dentist couldn’t. His staff was super helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. The office was clean and easy to find. Dr. Tsaknis took the time to really explain and walk through what my issue was and what my options were. Had a great experience!
Amazing bed side manner! New state of the art equipment! Painless!!!! (and I got a root canal) I would recommend them to anyone who wants the best of all worlds in a dentist. Dr. Laura Styron was absolutely amazing, and kept me informed every step of the way. I am one who is very nervous about going to the dentist, but City Dental DC is the absolute best!
I had to change my dentist to here since they are very close to home. Haven't been to a dentist in a few years so had a lot of things to handle: had a cavity, chipped tooth, filling repair and needed updated xrays and cleaning. Outstanding from start to finish. The admin team is helpful and communicative. The hygienists are friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. My Doctor was professional and her work was perfection. Their equipment is state of the art with 3D imaging and capability to build custom crowns on site, so no waiting for lab returns. Very impressed, happy with my dental work and highly recommend them. Thank you City Dental DC!
