About Cobblestone Kids

Cobblestone Kids provides dental care on South Street in the Hawthorne area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. Use this page to find contact information for Cobblestone Kids and to see its full range of services before getting in touch.

This place is the best. My five year old walked out and said “can we go to the dentist tomorrow?” My four year old didn’t want to sit alone in the chair or get X Rays…the hygienist worked magic on her and got both. Two year old happy as anything. They put us in a room so we can all be together and do each kid one after another. We now drive 35 minutes each way to go to this specific pediatric dentist.

I’ve been her multiple times with my other children, however this was my 2 year old daughter’s 1st time here. The hygienist that cleaned her teeth was awesome. My daughter was scared and cried, she sang to her, praised her and let her know everything she was doing and going to do! 10/10 experience as always! The NJ location is great as well!

Great experience. Every member of the team took the time to make sure our kids understood what was happening with a sense of humor and calmness. There wasn’t a single freakout, and we left feeling like our children’s dental health was in great hands!

We’ve always had great experiences at Cobblestone Kids, and our last visit was no different. My daughter chipped her front tooth, so I brought her in to get it filled. It looks fantastic! You can’t even tell it’s not all her real tooth! And the procedure was so quick. Very happy with the results.

Cobblestone provides an extremely friendly staff, excellent dentists with great advice, dental supplies and a toy for each child, and a playful environment for kids. Very kid-friendly space to help kids love going to the dentist.

We had such a wonderful experience at this pediatric dental office! Both of my boys (ages 2 and 4) were seen, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better visit. The entire staff was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The dentist took the time to explain everything in a way that made my older son feel comfortable and even excited, and they were so gentle and calm with my toddler. No tears, no fear — just a really positive experience all around. As a mom of two young boys, that means everything. We left feeling confident, informed, and grateful to have found a dental team that truly understands kids. Highly recommend!

Cobblestone is THE BEST. They’re so amazing with kids, that my kids actually look forward to visits to the dentist (which is def NOT how I felt as a kid… or now haha). In case it’s useful for you: they give a coin for the prize machine at the end of each visit which is a major highlight for the kids. It’s such a highlight in fact, that when I brush my kids’ teeth, I tell them that they want to make the dentist proud to make sure they get a coin next visit… and it incentivizes excellent brushing habits haha. Truly great pediatric dentistry all around!

Such a nice dentist to take your kids too. Nothing like the dentists I went to as a kid in the 80s! This is all very colorful and inviting. Kids gets to pick a show to watch during the examination and choose what flavor toothpaste they want for the cleaning, and at the end they not only get to pick a toothbrush but they get a token for the toy dispenser! Doctors and other staff are all very nice, as well as efficient. My kids have never been especially nervous about the dentist, but if you have kids who are, I'd imagine bringing them here would help.

My original appointment was at 8:30 but as a toddler mom I was naturally running a few minutes late. They got us in and out once we arrived within 15 minutes, and at least 5 minutes of that time was spent convincing my daughter she didn’t need another bouncy ball just because she didn’t want to pink one. They were super friendly, and the first visit is really just to get a look at their teeth, make sure there’s no cavities, brush and floss them and give parents advice. They let my daughter (she just turned 3 and it was her first visit) sit in my lap for the exam and were so friendly and explained everything they were going to do first. She didn’t let them floss but we hadn’t introduced that yet so we will work on that for next time. At the end they had her pick a tooth brush and gave a token to use at their little toy machines. Great experience and glad to have found this place.
