About Colorado Springs Pediatric Dentistry South

Based on Southpointe Court in the Southeast Colorado Springs area of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Colorado Springs Pediatric Dentistry South is a dental practice serving the area. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. My child has complex support needs (Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and a vision impairment) and requires lots of patience and kindness when it comes to dental work and check ups. Colorado Springs Pediatric Dentistry North has always been our number one choice. They go above and beyond in making our daughter feel comfortable while also making sure her teeth receive the care they need. Hands down best pediatric dentist in the state.

Great experience overall. Caleb was extremely kind and patient with my daughter who has trouble cooperating at the dentist. A much more personal and professional environment than the other popular local alternative.

I was looking for a second opinion. I was trying to schedule my toddler son because of the good reviews, but the receptionist couldn’t tell me which dental insurance they accepted or how much it would cost out of pocket for a consultation. I just gave up and told her I would go somewhere else. I looked on their website and there isn’t a clear answers on which dental insurance they accept or what’s in their network. So I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

The assistant who helped with our sons X-rays and cleaning did an amazing job explaining everything to my son so he could feel comfortable with the process. The dentist was also very friendly. Overall the staff was patient with him and his questions and the process never felt rushed. The office is very clean and kid friendly. I’m very happy with our experience as it was our first time at this office. Thank you!
