On my most recent visit to Columbia implants and periodontics, I had an amazing experience as usual. Full arch implants are a professional process from the Dr., staff side, and a commitment from the entire team for the best outcome. In the end, an undeniable change of one’s self confidence and joy that one feels was lost. The entire team have treated me professionally as a patient but made me feel comfortable like a close friend. Lourdes-Practitioner (hopefully spelled correctly and I might add respectfully holds true to her name), Dr. Jose( professionally precise, lively and comfortably inviting) and tech Louis (answered all my question and expressed that he believes in his team and the reason he chose to progress his career with them because they thrive to be perfectionists)! It’s been a journey no doubt. Patience is a virtue so they say. I’m not out of the woods quite yet but I know I’m in the best of care! 2weeks to go to first permanent fixture test drive! I’m ready. Thanks to all the team at Columbia implants and periodontics! I appreciate all your knowledge and efforts. You get a 5.000000000000000000…1 from me. Sorry they don’t give higher than a five so I thought it was appropriate! You guys rock! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Peace and Great TEETH! Mark B.
I arrived at 2:15 for my 2:30 appointment at the Little Patuxent Parkway office. I wasn’t taken back until 3:20. No apologies, sorry for running late, nothing. Then they did the CT scan (which is a $350 scan they REQUIRE before you can see a doctor, that they inform you is probably not covered by your insurance), then plopped me in a room. A woman (who did not introduce herself) came in and took pictures of the area of concern then started talking to me about my problem area. She was telling me what was going on, making some general diagnoses, etc. Didn’t ask for any type of history or “what brings you in today”. Turns out she wasn’t even the doctor!! (I wouldn’t know, she didn’t introduce herself) She left and I was left to sit and wait for the doctor to come in. Almost a half hour later this mystery lady came back in and told me “Dr Jose had seen everything he needs to see from the photos and has given me a treatment plan” and continues on to tell me about a very generic graft plan. The doctor finally came in at 4pm (still not quite sure how I was given a treatment plan without a doctor’s examination). Again, I had a 2:30 appointment, and was not speaking to a doctor until 4. The Dr himself was actually very kind and seemingly knowledgeable, but he still didn’t do a physical exam, which was strange and disappointing. I don’t typically write reviews, but I was so shocked by the lack of respect for my time and strange experience. It felt like I was being shuffled through a very disorganized system and given a cookie cutter treatment plan to make another sale. I will be taking my money elsewhere.
Run I can’t speak too much because of litigation but run
Dr. Torres is an incredibly knowledgeable and talented oral surgeon. I highly recommend her! The dental technicians at the office offer great care and are very thorough.
Run from this place!!! Do not waste your time. They will rob you blind and provide no service, no call back and no good faith insurance estimate. The even violate HIPPA LAW as they will not provide a copy of your CT Scan that you pay $350 for and by law if requested the office is bound to provide a copy to the customer. I was evaluated for gum recession by Dr. Torres who told me I needed 3 teeth removed, to get implants and handed me a $24,000 estimate without consulting with my insurance company. This was a shock to me as I get my teeth cleaned every 3 months so I went for a second opinion and was told that my teeth are just fine and that I just need a scaling and root planning procedure which I had them do and it worked like magic! I also added a night guard to my routine. All these people want to do is remove your teeth, take your money, waste your time and provide zero service and accountability. I even emailed Dr. Jose directly and he never had the courtesy to return my email or calls. RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!!
Tough experience with this office. Pros: The receptionist was helpful and the finance team explained everything clearly. The second appointment (reviewing costs and scheduling) went smoothly. Cons: My wife’s first consultation started over an hour late, with multiple patients visibly frustrated in the waiting room. After X-rays, we were told to come back again just to review them. The biggest issue was the day of her procedure. Prescriptions were sent in late the night before, so we had to pick them up and pay for them the morning of surgery. Then shortly after that, less than two hours before her 11:00 AM appointment, they called to cancel because the dentist apparently had a conference in Florida and his flight was moved earlier. I had taken off work to support her, and we had already paid for medications. They offered a $100 discount but couldn’t reschedule the surgery for another month! We ended up going elsewhere. Based on our experience, I’d recommend others consider doing the same.
I recently visited Dr. Jose’s periodontal office for treatment, and the experience was much better than I expected. I was honestly a bit nervous before my appointment, but the staff made the whole process comfortable from the start. The front desk team was welcoming and helpful, and check-in was quick and easy. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and professional. They explained what was going to happen step by step, which really helped reduce my anxiety. I appreciated that they took the time to answer my questions instead of rushing through the visit. Dr. Jose was excellent. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained my periodontal condition in a clear and simple way. During the procedure, he was gentle and frequently checked to make sure I was doing okay, which made a big difference in my comfort level. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and wants them to feel at ease. What stood out most to me was how supportive and coordinated the entire team was throughout the treatment. By the end of the visit, I felt relieved and very satisfied with the care I received. I’m truly happy with my experience and would highly recommend Dr. Jose and his periodontal team to anyone looking for professional and compassionate dental care.
People need to read the reviews about this center--the good and the bad. 1. They are VERY disorganized. They overbook appointments, so you'll be spending your time waiting and waiting. 2. There are several very sweet women at the front but they know nothing. They look pained if you ask them about something. 3. GET AN ITEMIZED BILL before signing up with them. 4. I had a dentist there, Dr. Andrew Chon, who was a hot mess. Hyper, rude, didn't have time for anything. He pulled out all of my teeth and took three one hour breaks to work with other patients. I had paid them almost 40 grand. Dude, take care of me first. They recently fired him. Goodbye and go. 5. They don't know what the heck is going on-----ever. DO NOT let someone in the office talk you into their billing credit. I saw how ridiculously high the interest rate was. 6. I feel as though I'm nobody with this practice. I'm waiting and waiting for my implants and they don't call you and tell you to come in for an appointment. 6. After they fired Dr. Chon, they asked what dentist I wanted. Well, I barely saw Dr. Chon. After they pull your teeth out you only get to see dental assistants-----um, no, I paid for a dentist. 7. Seriously, once they get your money, they don't care. Go somewhere else.
