About Comfort Dental North May - Oklahoma City

Based on North May Avenue in the Central Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Comfort Dental North May - Oklahoma City is a dental practice serving the area. Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

Sedation dentistry uses inhaled, oral, or intravenous options to help patients relax through treatment, ranging from nitrous oxide for mild anxiety through to deeper sedation for longer or more involved procedures. It is commonly used for patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. Usually not. Most dental sedation leaves you conscious but deeply relaxed, often with little memory of the procedure afterward. General anaesthesia, where you are fully unconscious, is reserved for specific circumstances.

I definitely don't think I will be back at comfort dental and I definitely won't be bringing any of my family or recommending at least this location. The best part of my experience was I believe the dental hygienist her name was Christian. But my dentist was not very friendly I didn't see her smile one time she seemed like she was upset she had to be here today. She recommended I get a cap which I personally can't afford at the moment while I'm finishing school when I informed her that I was butchered at 18 years old by a dentist that decided to fill all of my teeth when I was young because as he had put it I probably won't get on insurance when I'm older. She made me feel like I was making it up and said maybe it was just all of your teeth or cavities which they were not I honestly at the time that the dentist was just trying to help me but she definitely didn't make me feel comfortable whatsoever at the end of our visit I felt a sharp corner of the tooth and asked her if it was just left over filling if she could look at it I wouldn't necessarily say she rolled her eyes but she almost did another feeling of I was frustrating her luckily she did sand it down for me and the tooth does feel better I do still have some chunkie Gunk on the outside which is surprising with all the drilling she did she even dropped a tool in my throat area and I gagged that's definitely not something that's happened before. She seemed to struggle with my mouth even though it is very small I understand. There's just not one moment that she made me feel comfortable or at ease about anything. But the hygienist girl Christian was great she was very friendly she smiled when I told her my concerns she made eye contact and told me she understood I made her promise not to tell the dentist as I didn't want to upset her anymore. I do have a regular dentist which I go to dental Depot and have since I was 21 after the horrible incident when I was 18 I'm now 35 this is the first time I've seen a new dentist other than dental Depot I think I'll just stick with my original dentist from now on even if they can't get me in for an emergency situation . Thank you Christian for being very professional and polite you did make me feel better

My wife went to this place in 2024 and the woman dentist that worked on her teeth did fillings and connected her teeth and she couldn’t floss between her teeth. She was in pain for 6 months until we were able to find another dentist. She was unable to eat. The next dentist told her that the last dentist put too much filling or excessive filling rather on her teeth and that they looked like blocks. My wife’s teeth also shifted because of this.

Went to see the dentist today, she was extremely rude, not sure her name. But Asian female, I told her I had fillings done in Tulsa, and she said oh 11 fillings is terrible, made me feel very bad about my teeth. Also I feel like they overcharge on fillings even with insurance fillings are so expensive. Do not recommend the clinic was extremely dirty

I simply LOVE “Comfort Dental” N. May Ave. I have been going to Dr. David Gray for 12 - 13 years now. He is a fantastic dentist and his staff is just wonderful. They take great care with their patients and it is greatly appreciated. I LOVE COMING TO THE DENTIST!!!

I posted this once, but it's worth repeating it again that how happy I am with Dr. Gray, he's the best! He's awesome. He's patient, he answers your questions, his hygienist, Mari is wonderful. I was just in there May 19th for cleaning and xrays. I can't say enough, but you guys are missing a professional dental experience that you can trust and believe in.

I’ve been going to this location since 2017. I’ve only switched Drs twice . And I feel very comfortable every time I go. The Dental assistants really bring the energy. They are all so sweet and kind. And they understand my anxiety and they move at a pace that works for me. They also breakdown my dental plan in a way that makes sense to my wallet!!! I will send my children here when they get old enough and I always recommend Comfort Dental to everyone!

I left Kickingbird Dental in Edmond because of the way the dentist treated the dental assistants. He spoke to them like they were idiots and quite literally called them names like that in front of me. It was awful. So, I refused to go back after realizing it wasn't a one off. I found myself in desperate need for a dentist open later and that's how I found my way here about 3 years ago. I've never seen any of the dentists speak in a negative way to the dental assistants and that alone made my experience a million times better. My most recent experience was great just like all my other appts. Dr. Braden Nickel listens and explains everything. He has even worked with me to figure out different treatment plans to help better suit my needs. He's never made me feel embarrassed. At my most recent appt, the dental assistant, Mari, helped prepare my tooth and crown. She was very sweet, took extra care, and did a great job. My last stop was the front desk. Emily explained to me what we are waiting on as far as pre auths go with insurance and next steps. Thank you all for making my experience here comfortable!

If I had the option to rate this dental office with zero stars, I would, as it is an exceptionally poor establishment. I cannot recommend anyone to visit this place. I came in for some fillings and have never encountered such a dreadful experience as I did here. It is absurd to me that I arrived to resolve an issue and ended up departing in a worse state than when I arrived. It has been a month since my fillings were completed, and within the first week, one of the fillings fell out, necessitating a return visit due to the significant pain I was experiencing. Throughout the entire month following the fillings, I have endured discomfort in my teeth. The dentist advised me to take over-the-counter medication (ibuprofen), which I have been using, but it has not alleviated the pain. I have had fillings done before, and I have never experienced such prolonged pain or issues with fillings dislodging. The sole reason I chose to try this dental office was that my previous dentist relocated, and his practice unfortunately closed. My family and I are currently in search of a dependable and professional dental office with dentists who provide high-quality work and genuinely care for their patients.
