Our experience with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center was nothing short of exceptional. I am truly convinced that everyone who works here is an angel in disguise. The compassion, patience, and genuine kindness shown by every single person put our 6-year-old—and us as her parents—completely at ease throughout her procedure. Dr. Knod and her entire team were simply amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this facility.
Grateful for the team at CCMC. There are so many exceptional professionals who truly care. Special thanks to the entire MS7 team! The nurses were amazing (thank you, Taylor and Jaime! ) The Child Life team (Lauren and Bailey) and OT therapist, Gianna, are truly one of a kind! As in all healthcare settings, it’s important to advocate for yourself or your child, and having amazing people like this truly made all the difference for me and my family.
The medical staff here are great. It is everything else that needs to be replaced. The reception, getting your name tag, registration, billing are all horrible and make the entire experience at the hospital feel like a developing country. For example, when we arrived through the front door, we walked up to the desk and said we were there for surgery. The front desk gentlemen ignored us and was busy scrolling on his cell phone. After another couple of excuse me's, he continued to ignore us. He did not even raise his head. We just stood there for 5 minutes before he even looked up to acknowledge us. Then it took another 10min for him to thump our names and print out our name tags. It was not busy and there was no one else in the lobby.
My 4-year-old son was treated at Connecticut Children’s and we received exceptional care. The attending physician, Dr. Rahul Shah, took the time to personally listen to my concerns and completed his care personally. I’m SO GRATEFUL. The nurses, Jenna B. and Karlie M., were also incredibly kind, patient, and gentle with my son. They explained everything clearly and made him feel safe the entire time. A special thanks to Dr. Luke Sullivan, the resident, for being thorough & willing to involve the attending the minute it was requested. Most doctors are too prideful. I was not physically there with my son but my father who brought him who is the head of an HR dept of over 1000 employees for 20 yrs believes this was the most exceptional professionalism and pediatric care he has seen. From our family to the hospital, a big thank you. For context we live In Spfld, MA and I will continue to bring my children here for ED needs over baystate children’s.
Worst children’s hospital I could even imagine. My 12 month old has RSV we were there for 6 hours and all he was given was zofran. We were told my urgent care to go to this hospital so he could get iv fluids and I told multiple doctors and nurses he only had had 2 oz of fluids in 24 hours and one small wet diapers and they did not care. They gave him apple juice which he would not drink. They didn’t check his temp or anything. I had to advocate for anything to be done. How do u make a 12 month old who hasn’t had fluids in 24 hours wait for 6 hours to be helped or seen? I just can’t get over how bad every nurse and doctor was here . I would have been better off in a 3rd world country. Prior to going the rent care gave him popsicles, gave him oxygen and gave him a nebulizer. I would stay very far away from this hospital. You could not pay me enough money to ever come here again. The way we were treated was insane and uncalled for.
